Can anyone recommend one/advise? I ride my mare in a Kimblewick, she goes happily in it and I don't have a sore neck and shoulders any more from her pulling/yanking 😄 I'd like to try her in a micklem/pressure relief type bridle, but don't think they're suitable to use with this type of bit, can anyone recommend one that is? Her current bridle has a fairly padded noseband that I think she finds irritating even though it's only done up very very loosely!

With the caveat that I'm not an expert on anatomical bridles, they look like they function somewhat similarly to a grackle by and large on the noseband front, with various designs of headpiece for pressure relief, so I can't see why a kimblewick wouldn't work with one. That said, if she's fussy about the noseband in general, I'd be inclined to perhaps see if you can borrow one to try, or get one with a removable noseband, in case she doesn't get on with it.

Where do the sides of the noseband lie on her face? Two of my ponies have needed the side pieces that go over or up to the headpiece altered because the nose part was originally too short and the sides rubbed on their cheekbones which they hated. By lengthening the front the sides lay along the cheek below the cheekbone.
Ps - one liked a kimblewick the other is in a pelham.
