If so, which way did the course run? was it down the step then right and down the hill?

Yes it was. Through the woods at the end. Certainly wouldn't go back out of choice, the ground was pretty hard, especially in the sj, and all the xc combination distances were very odd.

I now what you mean ground s always hard, but it is almost my closest event! Bar Nurstead.
And my 1st PAVO class, but hopefully with the bit of rain it might be a bit better, I hope

Strattford Hills Is My closest XC course, exactly 8 miles from stables to site.
I take it your possibly planning on the BE ODE there on the weekend off the 16/17th June?
I had a walk round the course last week , currently got quite good ground. Obviously the weather between now and mid june is going to change.
The trerrain as you know is rolling hills which means it drains pretty well.
I'm probably going to go up there during the half term holidays with some off the kids from our stables and have a session on the new course they are building ( not the one they will be using for the BE ODE). I can report back the ground conditions then if you want. Alternitivly you could phone the course designer and get his opinion on the going. You can reach David Merret at Kiln Saddlery in Colchester.
I did shoot a video off the XC section last year. Holly, if you would like a copy drop me a PM and I will mail it to you. I covered quite a lot off the jumps over the two days.
