I think I'm basically the entertainment. The youngsters have been restricted this week due to twangs/refusing to stop chewing a paw and they are looking to me for entertainment. Mitch and I went for a walk yesterday after work and nearly pulled me over! They bashed into Bear earlier, luckily he was on the lawn and just tipped onto his bum. Now they're both upstairs but refusing to come in the bathroom.

I loathe pooch and also mutt, especially when used in newspaper articles

Yep! Obviously the tabloids go for the more twee, but it's not ideal to have the same noun in the same sentence/in every par, too close together.

Not in conversation but if im calling all 4 I don’t shout individual names, I call “dogs” or “doggos”
It’s a collective term and they all understand it

Mine is regularly referred to as the ‘fat mongrel’ in public . The fact he is a skinny mostly whippet combined with a sad ‘tragic rescue’ face gets him many sympathy biscuits from shops
