I knew it couldnt last forever and I blame myself but luckily potential disaster was only a phew! Someone up there was looking after me.

My own fault basically I didnt read the warning signs.

Took Charlie for a hack and out of character with him as we went up the track he tried to turn round. At top he tried to turn round then we left farm and trotted sharply up the road (its fast and on a bend) got off the hill started up the bridlepath and this time he spun faster and harder turned him around again he blipped I dont know what happened to make me come off it wasnt a hard fall but he was by now panicking ripped the reins out of my hand and charged flat out for home. As I ran round the corner I didnt know what I would find. Al the cars had stopped thank god just in time for me to see my gorgeous boy disappear down the hill.

A car driver stopped and made me get in and drove me back to farm (lovely couple). YO was holding the boy. I got back on said there there and she walked back up the hill with me.

We did our hack he cmae back happy but I am cross with myslef for two reasons.

1. I hadnt recognised he was frightened and

2. when he was whipping round I couldnt reassure him enough he just zoned out and I pulled him round which added to his panic.

Lesson learnt listen to you horse. The house on this bridleway has a farmer who is a bit notorious for keeping dead animals lying around and his tenant has pigs I just wonder if there was something in the air?

Current issue is he is wonderful but when really spooked he whips round 180 and shouts RUN....DRAGON. I need something to do on his back to make him understand no, fluffy wuffy bunny I will look after you.
