Wretched animal, I can only assume he has realized that I am shipping him off to the UK in 2 weeks and decided he wanted to stay put!
Today I went to get him in to find a hole the size of a 50 pence peice on the side of his knee on his near fore, not only big but deep, luckily he managed to only take god knows how much skin off, and a knee swollen up like a ballon.
Rang the vet! and then spent 30 mins cold hosing it to a) clean it and b) get rid of some of the swelling.
Vet has just left having given him a shot of Antibiotic and a shot of anti inflammatory, says the hole should really be stiched but due to the fact that he has managed to remove anything that we could possibly stitch then a no go, instead I have to clean and cream 4 times a day.
He has two more Antibiotic injections now sitting in my YO's fridge and will have to stay in a small dry lot for 4 days to allow the wound to start to heal without too much movement and to keep it clean.
I have just left him lying down in his stable looking very sorry for himself but we did have a lovely cuddle.
God knows how he has managed to do it.
