IF, LACS had anything to do with this killing then they should be prosicuted but I don't think they did.

OK, look at the video again and answer some easy questions.

1, How many cameras were used?
The quality of the recording changes a few times, the time and date stamp only shows up after about 3/4 of the film.

2. Is the person in the combats and blue top who kills the deer in or near the landrover when the locals turn up?
He is older with light hair and the people near the landrover are younger and both with dark hair.

3. Can anyone actually trust this as a true recording?

Come on now, be honest.

"IF, LACS had anything to do with this killing then they should be prosicuted but I don't think they did."

Yes they should. And for maltreatment of deer in general.

"1, How many cameras were used?"

Don't know. I will find out. Not very relevant to league actions though. When we are out with the DSSH controlling the deer properly we see anything between 0 and 10 cameras. 2.

"Is the person in the combats and blue top who kills the deer in or near the landrover when the locals turn up? "

I think you have misunderstood. "locals turn up" It was Steve Coates doing the filming.

"3. Can anyone actually trust this as a true recording?"

Why not? I am sure we will see the result of the RSPCA investigation soon.

Or maybe it will be under "Chatham House Rules" again !!!

Tell me wrighty what do you think about Baronsdown? Or the condition of the Exmoor Red Deer in general?

Who would prosecute them?

You aren't honestly suggesting that the RSPCA would prosecute LACS for cruelty.

Do you understand the concept of politics?

Why weren't LACS prosecuted when they were filemed illegally driving deer with vehicles and shooting them from the window?

The problem is TF that according to Douglas Batchelor the RSPCA are acarrying out a joint investigation with LACS into the CA. So it's pretty unlikkely that it will cast any aspertions on LACS.

What we need is an independant non political organisation to investigate animal welfare issues and prosecute people where the law is broken. Someone should set up a charity which abides by charity law by not getting involved in politics. Maybe the queen could be persuaded to give it her royal seal of approval.

This might sound silly but I don't agree with having sanctuaries, I believe in nature and the survival of the fittest by nature, if there isn't enough food to support a certain type of animal then some of them die, simple.
(Please don't come back with "It's natural for the hounds to hunt foxes" because as far as I am aware there are no wild packs of hounds running around the country chasing foxes and the red coat brigade just happen to be riding in the same area.)

"I think you have misunderstood. "locals turn up"" So the people shouting abuse were not locals? I was saying that the person doing the killing wasn't in the landrover where the deer was put.

"I am sure we will see the result of the RSPCA investigation soon"
I hope so.

"You aren't honestly suggesting that the RSPCA would prosecute LACS for cruelty."

I am suggesting that any cruelty to animals should be investigated and people prosecuted if they have the evidence against them, I don't care if these people are pro's, anti's or a little old lady that starves a cat because she can't afford food.

"Do you understand the concept of politics?"
Yes and so do a lot of people on here, thats why there are threads going on about Cameron bring back hunting to get the Pro's vote and why Blair allowed the vote to get the Anti's vote.
I myself don't give a sh1t about politics, just the stopping of cruelty towards animals (I include humans in that as well)

"What we need is an independant non political organisation to investigate animal welfare issues and prosecute people where the law is broken. Someone should set up a charity which abides by charity law by not getting involved in politics."

I agree with that 100%

"Maybe the queen could be persuaded to give it her royal seal of approval."

I disagree with that 100%. How can anyone believe in an organisation against any type of animal cruelty endorsed by a inbred family of hunt supporters?

Sorry to burst your bubble wrighty, but Exmoor is not in a natural state. The Red deer of Exmoor are generally eating food owned by someone. What do you reckon to that?

"So the people shouting abuse were not locals? I was saying that the person doing the killing wasn't in the landrover where the deer was put."

Yes they were. They were shouting abuse at the animal abuser tillsley of the LACS. I abuse him when i can.

"I was saying that the person doing the killing wasn't in the landrover where the deer was put."

No he wasn't. He had his own vehicle. What is your point?

"I hope so."

I think you will have a long wait !!!

By the way, who are the Red coat brigade?

Whoever was filming, locals, Mr Coates or any of his friends, all I am saying is there is nothing in the tape to show that LACS had anything to do with the killing of that deer.
Why would they call the police if they had just killed it or had prior knowledge of it?

There's no point me saying "Let the RSPCA and the police deal with it" because Pro's won't believe a thing the RSPCA says (Unless they find against LACS) and as we know the police don't do anything when whole videos (uncut) are presented of people breaking the law when hunting so I doubt they will do anything with this jigsaw of clips.

Oh, I'd better saw sorry for a small attempt at humour, wasn't funny either.
I should refer to people on horses wearing traditional hunting clothes as "hunters" and not the "red coat brigade" as I do know some people wear different coloured coats while out on a hunt.

"Exmoor is not in a natural state"
True, like most of the British Isles, Exmoor is no longer in it's natural state but seeing it was us (humans) that changed the face of the nation doesn't mean we should take it out on the wild animals, even if they are eating someone elses food.

[quote"It's natural for the hounds to hunt foxes" [/quote]

It's natural for foxes to have predators. Such predators would keep the fox poluation in control and more healthy.

In the absence of natural predators hunting performs a similar function.

Animals arenot controlled by availability of food alone, they are natuirally controlled through predation.

Where animal populations are controlled solely by availability of food youget a lot of very sick starving and diseased animals. That is bad for animal welfare.

If you are an 'animal lover' then that would concern you.

"Animals arenot controlled by availability of food alone, they are natuirally controlled through predation"
True sometimes BUT not all animals are controlled by predation.
Elephants, Hippo, big cats, etc, etc, etc are controlled naturally by the food, not enough food and the weak die off, yes they starve but that is natural and natural is not bad.
Humans have tried to control these animals in the past to stop "suffering" and caused more problems because of it.
Example.
Humans thought there were too many elephants in 1 area and believed that they would suffer and starve so they decided to cull some to keep the numbers down, the killed animals were placed in 1 spot, rotted and poisoned water which killed many more animals in the area, because of the lack of elephants eating and breaking through natural hedges/bush the natural tracks to waterholes were blocked and many more animals died from thirst.

Animals have been surviving in their own way well before we turned up and started using our superiour inteligence.

Please stop using silly excuses for your (the hunting people) lust for blood.
