On the hunt for a trailer now, saw one advertised that fitted the bill exactly.

Called up yesterday & got the seller's OH who said the seller would call me back in 5 minutes. Nothing for 2 hours so I sent a text. An hour later had a call from the seller and arranged to view it today. She said she'd be at a show and therefore to call after 4 for address etc.

I called at 4.15, no answer. Left a message. Have sat around waiting to hear back from her but nothing. Just checked the website and the advert has been taken down.

So I've sat around this afternoon waiting to go see the trailer and the seller didn't even have the courtesy to tell me she'd sold it!!

People can be unbelievable. I was looking for a 12.2hh pony in April and couldn't get over the attitude of some people. It seemed like a complete hassle to let me see the animal in some cases. One girl arrived 25 minutes late and the pony was still in the field - this was after calls back and forward for 3 days trying to get a time when it suited her to let me see the pony. When said pony was finally caught and brought in it was 11hh instead of 12.2 as advertised. Another one could not put one of its feet to the floor due to a badly managed tendon injury. Luckily I finally found a sensible chap with an even more sensible 12.2 pony who is now standing in my field.
I'm not the most patient of people and found the whole thing extremely frustrating.

When looking for a lorry a while back we drove for an hour on a Sunday morning only to find it was sold! He'd sold it late on the sat night & we set off early on the sun, he seemed amazed that we were so annoyed & just said we should've checked the website where the ad was as it had been marked as sold!!!

I must say I've had more time wasters when I've tried to buy horses ect than when I've been selling. Was looking for a pony for my daughter went to view one owner admitted when I wanted to buy that she didn't intend to sell her daughters outgrown pony she was just going through the motions to please her husband !!! So angry what a waste of my time and fuel!!!!

I've also had far more timewasters buying, rather than selling.
Last month I went to view a horse, 150 mile round trip, has been sold that morning!! To make it worse the seller had texted me at lunchtime to check I was still coming!!
Some very odd folk in the horsey world!

I was helping my sister look for a pony for her and her very novice daughter to share. First pony was anything but a novice ride, took 3 people to hold him while he was mounted and then bombed around the school like a lunatic. Second one was sold before she'd even set off from home but they didn't let her know (80 min round trip). Number 3 was a fair distance away- approx 80 miles but sounded right on paper.Got there, thought "hmm, that pony has an odd shaped belly... looks like it's in foal." Sure enough she'd started to wax up! The girl was quite surprised when my sister declined getting on to try.

It's just so annoying when you think you've asked all the right questions and then the pony/horse is anything but what was described.

I'd have been really annoyed at that. Some people just have no manners!

I've rung a couple of times and left messages, also emailed about a horse thats for sale. Nothing back. I assume they must have sold but wouldn't hurt to just say. If they haven't then hope they have other interest as i've put that ad in the bin pile now!

I've had a few 'interesting' viewings as well, for example

- horse lame (obvious even in walk), I'm sure seller thought I was a time waster who did not even want to get on and try it
- had an offer for a lovely youngster horse from a professional SJ accepted, arranged vetting just to find it had been sold to someone else by sellers oh,
- a "well mannered" youngster from a big stud that tried to kick me - twice. Groom kept saying it was the sweetest kindest thing and that it was my fault.
- another bucked off the rider and seller also "forgot" to mention the horse weaved and had a very abnormal gait due to a twisted fore leg, though it was advertised as well mannered with good conformation and dressage/eventing potential...
-horse advertised as having excellent temperament, good to handle and ready to back, when in fact it had been stood in a field with the dam until 4yo and could not even lead or pick up feet. It was also extremely obese, although it was winter.

It baffles me how many plain and ordinary horses are advertised as stunning, fantastic and excellent, it puts me off more than if they were just described as ordinary.

But many sellers are of course lovely and straight forward.

I went to see one horse TWICE travelling over an hour to see it, the horse was kept at an eventing yard, the owner never showed up, or according the yard owner never saw the horse and she kept it on full livery 24/7 and couldn't ride it etc. Anyways I phoned the owner up after the second viewing to make an offer for her to turn round and say she loved the horse too much to sell it now. Well why on earth let me view it x2 if you're not selling it?!
Other horse I viewed, scatty chestnut mare, owner said it 7 and had just had a foal, so I thought fair enough it is green, but it was willing and had a good jump. Went for a 2nd viewing, owner said that she has got the passports muddled up. It was not 7, it was 13... and a green and scatty!

I had organised to see a coloured horse early last week and to go see it on the Sunday just been. Anyway I noticed the ad had been removed and she didn't tell me the horse had been sold. Would have been SO angry if I'd turned up there to find that out!!
