I am looking for a horse to buy now, as sadly I had a rather un kind message from my loan boy's owner over the weekend who said that a saddle wasn't a priority and buying him was... erm I shall say this... the saddle I got with him was awful did not fit him one bit its a forward cut wintec 500 the older style, no good for a deep shouldered horse, changed the gullet too had two saddlers out to check it etc, nope a new one was needed I had asked his owner couple months previous if they had another one for him to which I got a no.
So have had this saddle on trial in order to purchase it, and to pay his owner for him too as per agreement to pay in installments our idea not hers, she wouldn't be getting a penny til next year anyway, so her saying to me that not paying her was the wrong thing when in fact I am looking out for the horse and myself and I wouldn't buy a saddle for nothing especially this side of xmas and if I don't pay her by the end of this month she is going to come and take him back!!! I was gob smaked so I replied in a polite manner but firm about it all pointing out reasons etc.
I have done my upmost for this boy since he came to me, bent over backwards to get him going well as his schooling isnt great very stiff etc and his saddle was restricting his movement you can even see it in the pics of him!
The agreement stated that I would pay half his price by may next year.. ok no probs but to show her my good intentions I asked if I could pay each month and then no probs, she agreed this. (maybe I am too soft).
Without having a decent saddle that fitted him what could I do with him?? so to me buying a fitted saddle was a benefit and she would still have got her money but instead sent me a message via FB then went offline.. so that left me quite upset by it all I have done my best for this horse too.
Am I totally in the wrong with this?
I haven't had a reply yet either to my messgae back to her.
Not slept all night been awake thinking things through ive attacked the giant cadbury's buttons too already

What would you do in my position please? I have more info but would rather save face by not spilling everything on here.
