Was at mossburn today, fully expecting the general upset at not winning but turns out it's got a bit more fishy!
Now we KNOW at least 300 people voted 10 times for us, giving us a minimun of 3000 votes.
We have a lot of contacts, including some organisations (about 6) who each got about 40/50 people voting for us. We have known votes from cornwall to right up to north scotland and we can almost definitely say another 200 voted for us.
that would give us AT LEAST 5000 votes.
The school who won only has at the most 100 pupils and staff, meaning we would be at the same votes as them if each of their pupils and teachers got 50 votes (i.e another 4 people to vote ten times)
Thing that is bothering us is that when the guy rang up to say we hadn't won, Mossburn's owner asked what the figures are. To her surprise the guy said "oh, we don't have them" immediately causing suspision. So she rang border news (who have been revealing the winners and presenting the cheques) and they said they don't have the figures either, and that the phone company has the figures. So YO asked for the contact details for the phone company only to be told "oh no, we can't give you that!"
So, the only people who apparantly know the voting figures are a mysterious phone company noone can get hold of.
We have had avout 50 emails already expressing how surprised people are that we didn't win against this school with very limited numbers of people, as they got X amount of votes!
So, YO has given them until 12 noon tomorrow to get us the figures or she is going to various watchdogs and the press.
