this is so sad these men shouldn't be allowed to keep animals, they should all be shot, whats the fun in strangling a baby cow and killing it?

Seen that vid a few times, usually its the outrage at the way the horses are treated thats gets mentioned.

I agree the vid isnt nice but that is of course a very biased vid, not an impartial one!

distressing viewing though.

thats one out of loads, all i typed in was horse rodeo, didnt realise how bad it all actually is, i think i was nieve! my OH is shocked too, he doesnt usually show emotion.
 
Very distressing to watch. Then again that is the point of it. From what people in the know have told me rodeos are not like this and there are a few clips of *accidents* and *unfortunate evens* and *against the norm rule bending* like these that get passed around. Still have to say looks horrific and really horrible to watch and would like to say would reserve judgement until have actually been to one but it's very hard to do seeing things like this.
 
i WAS reserving judgement but 80% of the clips are cruel, i just cant understand why they do it for fun? what a waste of life, why not just graze the cattle and then have them sent for meat? i would rather the calves were shot at birth than let them live for a few weeks and torture them. i think that most of the cruelty goes on at the back where its not too obvious cos surely not many people in the audience would stand for that?
 
Rodeo is not a bad sport, but I agree that this video shows some horrible things. I have never been to a rodeo with things like this being done. In fact there are usually ASPCA police there to monter the events.
 
Ahh, well we all know YouTube has some fascinating clips on it...

This has been posted about loads, its hideously disturbing to watch but is not an unbiased view of rodeo as a whole.

I dont think generalising about "you wouldnt ee this happening in the UK." is a very informed way of thinking either though.

I know that's not a general view of Rodeo's as a whole, but even so, it still happens.
 
That had me in tears, I cannot imagine how anyone could ever treat animals like that. I cannot judge rodeo as I have never seen any but that is just horrible.

These disgustingly poor conditioned horses are broncs.
I went with an open mind to several rodeos this summer and can honestly say that not once did I see anything that could be called cruelty, or even approaching it. I have seen far worse treatment of animals in UK livestock markets.

Obviously I can't comment on anything other than I have seen personally, but there has been nothing like that here. In fact, the only things that seem to get hurt are the riders..........frequently eating dirt.
