Does anyone have lessons with him? My new yard are thinking of doing a monthly clinic with him and any opinions would be welcomed. PM me if you prefer.

I am currently doing affilated Prelim hoping to do some affilaited Novice this year so am not an amazing rider.

Not sure hes taking on new clients at the moment tho. Its worth emailing his wife, Polly - address is on their website - as she does all his bookings.

Already done and she replied saying they were interested !!

Not having used a dressage trainer before (always used event ones) I am a bit scared the other girls have to agree too.

Does he explain things well?

i think hes really good at explaining things and i get on with him really well - different people get on with different trainers tho.

Another to consider is Gareth Hughes, he is also excellent

Thanks, I can be a bit dense sometimes so I like instructors that explain it well! Tey used to use Paul Friday but he cant make it now, they stoped for a while and another yard took the space over

Thanks for the advice on Gareth Hughes I will suggest him too is he local?

Andrew Gould is ace, I loved my lessons with him, he is a really sympathetic teacher and great at explaining things rather than just shouting at you. He's not one of these extreme dressage trainers forcing you to used draw reins etc. He even took my horses curb chain off when he had a sit on him to assess how we could get him move more forward.

yep he is really good - get on really well with him he never really shouts - also he knew my mare had an injury and didnt push her to far !!! also me and dressage dont go so explaining things to me are also hard !!

I am attending a clinic with him next month.

I love dressage - my horse tolerates it! So I am hoping to get some good advice and tips from him.

I have heard only good things about him so far.

If he wants a sit on my horse - then that is fine by me!

Andrew is fab,
Gareth also, but he's up here in warwickshire. Where are you?
If you're local to GH then also try Eric Theilguard. Also Dan Greenwood, Not sure where Roland is based now, as news on the GV is that he's no longer at swallowfield.
Essex way, the assoulines also ace.
Really depends where you are?
