Angel of the South to be a Horse

...and it actually LOOKS like a horse, rather than a pile of tumbled scrap iron that you have to stand on your head and squint at to glimpse any likeness to anything at all.

LOL at the pile of poo, give it time, some smart aleck will sort that out!

Oh I love the Angel of the North. It has that lovely, urban grittiness about it. I think it is stunning.
Each of these sculptures do, I think, reflect the character of where they are.

I do love these monuments, and obviously love this one, but the £2M its going to cost is a bit of a waste of money, when this country is on its knees.
Its not like its going to bring any money into the country. Its going to be great for us horse lovers but thats it.

Sorry for being a boring poo bum

I think it would make a lovely model pony, but as a huge sculpture I think a more abstract, stylised horse along the lines of the chalk horses would look better.

Maybe a sculpture made of white resin strips echoing the downland horses.

I love horses and love looking at them

, but having read an article in the Daily Mail today that it would cost around 2million

i think the money could be used better else where regarding the state of the economy at the moment

. Don't want to be a kill joy because part of me is pleased

but the other half just seems a bit troubled by peoples priorities if you get my drift

It doesn't have to have a point - it is art. It will still be there when the economy has recovered and when it goes wrong again.

When I think of what money is spent on - including obscelete weapons systems such as Trident - £2m is, really, buttons. If you only built monuments you could afford, there would be no Nelson's column, no Wallace monument, no stunning architecture - we would resemble a utilitarian Eastern bloc state - does anyone really want that?

I think the horse is great.

Arabelle agree with you to a point

. I think maybe all this talk of recession is getting to me and i'm starting to be dangerously boring

, but you certainly make some good points

.

Warming to the idea of a horse sculpture more me thinks
