Sorry this is a bit of a rant.

Was hacking out on my hairy little coblet yesterday afternoonn alone. She did quite well all in all and we only had a couple of wobbles over the entrance to fields which as we all know can jump up and gobble up horses in one bite if not watched carefully!

Most of the cars that passed me were pretty good, some slowed down alot, others not so much despite me riding on pretty narrow country lanes. However one driver who I would call extremely rude names except I would probably get banned flew past me revving the engine of his penile replacement porche. My poor little mare almost dropped dead of fright!

Why are some people such senseless dickwads?

Rant over.

By the sounds of it he really wanted his penile extension personalised with a nice horse sized dent! shame he didn't realise how much it might have hurt!

just be thankful that your mare coped with the ordeal and be hopeful that it stands her in good stead for the future.

I think that as the years have gone by fewer and fewer drivers actually know how to pass horses or just generally lack common sense. There should be more about it when they are learning or doing their tests.

Clearly he thinks he is Richard Hammond filming an episode of Top Gear

I wish Top Gear would put a

"This road was closed during filming- please drive responsibly in the countryside"

Type of notice up on their programme- ESPECIALLY when they show clips of sports cars flying through leafy countryside!!

We have SO many Clarkson/Hammond wannabes who think an absence of traffic makes the countryside safe for speeding

If Top Gear promote cars and speed they should also promote safety!!

ETA I actually love Top Gear (hence knowing about the speeding sports car through leafy countryside shots!) however I do think they should promote more responsibility

Amen to that.

I just can't believe that I was on a fairly straight piece of road so he could clearly see me and he went so fast.

I am not a violent person but to be honest I felt like punching him the nose if I had had a chance!

Oh my I think I need to lie down and have a nice cup of sweet tea now

As Hammond and Clarkson are both horse owners I'm sure that they would encourage responsibility when passing horses!

I think it is the driving test that needs attention.

When I was a driving instructor, I asked a pupil at what speed she thought she should pass a horse at, and how much clearance. She wasn't joking when she told me 30mph and five foot clearance... obviously, I educated her (and many others!) but I wonder if she will remember what I taught her.

He drives like that because he's got a small willy!
Men who drive cars like that are clearly over compensating for something.
