Wow people are rude.

I happen to know the OP in RL (She was here last weekend, it was fabulous :D)

She is upset. I also know the guy she is talking about and this just touches the surface of the rude comments he makes.

This also isn't the only thing she has to worry about but it happens to be something she feels strongly about and something that has upset her.

And FionaM12 - He has an opinion, she has hers. So what I hear you say. However, why should she have to put up with people being rude about her choice of horse. If he doesn't like her choice of horse is there any need to be rude about it? Especially with such a sweeping generalisation. There was no need for the comment he made.

no im not upset because he doesn't like the same horses as me, any one can like what ever horse they like, its the fact he bullies me and says things to hurt me, every one who knows me knows i love coloureds and he is very sitful (spelt wrong sorry) towards me loving my coloureds

i never wanted to start trouble and app these comments i just needed of my chest as i have enough going round my mind with out some thing else
i dont want the sympathy just wanted some one to listen

I think there's much more going on for you than just this man's comments about horses. You probably do need someone to listen to you, but I suggest this forum probably isn't the best place.

If you're being bullied by this person, you need to deal with that or get him out of your life. You say you know him from being at Preston, yet now he's in the IOM? I know it's not a huge place but surely you can get away from him?

I don't think the problem's his dislike of coloured horses, it's about him taunting you. Do you have good friends, or family you could talk to? Get it off your chest, by all means, but it would be better to do it privately with someone you trust.

You seem unhappy, for whatever reason. I hope you sort it out. :)

OP, the comment probably hurts more since your last horse was a nice chunky cob. Doubtless you still miss him.

You will find a lovely coloured horse to suit you, don't worry about this silly chap and his comments. But if they really bother you consider this:

1) Fresians (which I happen to adore), are also rather large and hairy footed
2) The Romans considered the original Fresians to be plain and even ugly
3) Your horse will be more intelligent than this other person anyway - and probably a better conversationalist too:D

I was going to buy a lovely little Irish cob a few months back, but ended up with a bossy little Arab instead. Said Arab is the hairiest horse on the entire yard - her field mate is a rather impeccable coloured horse of the non-cob variety. Today I watched the coloured horse jumping and just thought: "Wow!"

Chin up;)

I was busy writing my above post and didn't see yours DC. I wonder why you pick on my comments, among all the other much stronger ones?

Sadly people have to put up with all sorts of rude attitudes from others. I have friends who have suffered dreadfully because of their race, colour, disability etc. Believe me, to most of us rude remarks about our "choice of horse" are laughable.

As I say above, I suspect there's much more going on for your friend than this, and maybe you could offer her a listening ear and advise her to get help if she's being bullied, or keep away from him. Like I say, this probably isn't a helpful place to post her feelings. To most people, they just look petty.

Put your chin up And move on
I own Both friesian and a Irish cob but both do the job what either one can't do
Like my cob can jump but finds it hard to do dressage and my friesians can't jump often but can do dressage
Not all coloureds are heavy but it is coming to this day and age many ones in the show ring are get obese maybe he had seen to many show ring ones and not enough general hacking ones that actually look more fitter .
I wouldn't take it personally
Not alot of people like friesian , cobs , coloureds , personally
I don't like fjords , Arabs and all White horses ( due to them looking dirty All the time ) alot of people are not going to agree with me but I ain't going to fall out over it because this is my thoughts and dislikes just like anybody who hates friesians and cobs

ischa - you are so right about the pale ones looking dirty all the time! My mare went out spotless the other day and came in with almost black legs and a brownish green neck:confused:

She also has a purple blob on her nose from my over generous application of Purple Spray, lol! Oh and a lovely carroty sort of lipliner effect - messy so and so!

So glad I've got a common or garden bay. :D The poo and mud stains sort of just blend in....

Almost every other horse on the yard is bay or brown! There is one perfectly turned out skewbald and my little scruffy polar bear in training!

And yes, I do groom her every day, and rug her up. She's just messy. Roll on the day when she trusts me enough to clip her...
