Deary me...
I see a lot of people have posted their experiences with animal communicators in the NL for their horses so I thought I would share mine for the dog!
This was Georgina Cotgreave in Nov 2008, recommended by Llyncwyn on here, £30, did not break the bank.
B 14 month old GSD owned for 8 months by XXXXXX
"Im good thanks, I get very excited about things though! About everything really, I like going new places and doing new things and meeting people."
(HE'S A GSD!!!!)
I feel his anxiousness is related to his handling and training methods before you owned him. He was very young and got confused with what was being asked of him. He thought he was doing things right but got punished and didnt understand why.
(CAN'T COMMENT BUT SHE DID SAY OVER THE PHONE THAT HE HAD BEEN OWNED BY A VERY TALL MAN, WHICH IS CORRECT)
He is very eager to please and almost tries too hard to do things right. This means he can then seem over-powering and almost pushy. He needs to learn self confidence and to relax a little more but this will take time.
(CORRECT)
I feel his health issue is related internally rather than structurally. I feel his heart sometimes has an irregular beat which can sometimes cause him to feel a bit nauseous and giddy which in turn makes him anxious. Sometimes his tongue gets really dry too and he drinks excessive amounts of water.
(ALL SPOT ON. SHE WAS NOT TOLD WHAT THE HEALTH ISSUE WAS BUT IT HAS SINCE TURNED OUT TO BE AN INTERNAL CONDITION EXPRESSED EXTERALLY. VET HAS CONFIRMED IRREGULAR HEARTBEAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE. HE DRINKS A LOT)
He looks at other dogs to learn behavior and can become quite excited when he is with them! He enjoys the training that you give him because it gives him something to focus on.
(SPOT ON. HE HAS CHANGED IMMEASURABLY SINCE WE STARTED FORMAL TRAINING.)
He gets confused sometimes when you come and go, and misses you when youre not around. He loves to be doing things and is on the go all the time- sometimes too much!
(HE'S A GSD!!!)
When you are not with him, leave something with him that belongs to you. Something with your smell on that he can relate to you. This will help him feel happier, more relaxed and less anxious.
(I DID SO FOR A WHILE. HE IS A LOT MORE SETTLED NOW BUT I LEAVE HIM IN WITH HIS SISTER NOW HE HAS BEEN NEUTERED)
He really needs to feel safe all the time and worries when he has to do things on his own, but I feel with careful, structured handling where he can work within set boundaries he will learn self-confidence and learn to relax a little.
(HE IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT DOG NOW TO WHEN THE READING TOOK PLACE. HE IS STILL A LITTLE NEEDY AND WILL BACK INTO ME AND SIT ON MY FEET WHEN HE IS UNSURE OF HIMSELF. I USED TO THINK HE WAS DOMINEERING WHEN HE WAS ACTUALLY JUST A BIT INSECURE AND VERY CONFUSED OF WHAT WAS BEING ASKED OF HIM - MY BAD!!)
So overall quite pleased. All she asked for was name, photo, how long I had owned him. I gave no leading answers/information.
