Animal Communicators?

I am such a cynic I am totally unbelieving. Those of you who think they talk to your horse, even via photo media I assume you also believe in God and fairies?
Not actually intending to be as rude as it possibly sounds, but horses do not even 'talk' to each other using the English language, let alone to us.

that is exactly what the guy i used sai ref the language........................he said he finds it frustrating that people want to hear their horse "loves them" or likes to work for them etc but in reality he said they either feel fairly treated and are not in pain and are thus happy with their lot or they feel unfairly treated/confused and/or are in pain and thus feel on edge and unable to settle down.

its more about how the feel day to day and what they feel able to comply with (ref our demands) they do not describe things how we do and cannot express wanting things like rugs etc, they can more indicate what upsets them or what they miss.

so no i dont believe there is any kind of communication along the lines of "hello horse, how are you?"...."i really love my mum but i wish i had a navy stable rug" etc etc but i do feel certain people can pick up on the subtle issues/problems without that descriptive exchange of words.

Yes, Clodagh, it does sound rude, not to say possibly offensive to some perhaps.

Hallo2012, you put it all well. Another aspect to bear in mind is that a person talking about how a horse presents does have to express this in the English language as that is what we use to communicate to each other, and so it needs to be used when the communicator talks to the owner.

I suspect for many animal communicators there is as much work in reading the owners as there is in reading the horses and some might even get away just reading the owners alone (esp those who read from photographs and such).

Being able to pick up that the horse is otherwise content/ok but that the owner is unsure and then giving reassurance through general "your horse loves you but isn't sure how to express that love" coupled with "he'd really like a new blanket" gives the owner confidence and also something to "do" which makes them feel like they are achieving.

It's kind of a placebo effect; although some could consider it an abuse of trust in many cases (I'm not opposed to the view that an animal might feel a certain connection to a material item and that a specific colour or other property could be more in favour over others; but I suspect the greater number of such comments made by communicators are likely not as true).

But no amount of reading the owners gives access to such specifics as my hobby communicator gave me. I have absolutely no explanation for what she said. And no, I don't believe in fairies or indeed in any sort of god - but I do believe we don't know everything about science and nature and animal communication, however clever we think we are. There is a lot of mysterious stuff out there - we know more than when we all thought the sun went round the (flat) earth - but there is still an infinite amount of stuff to discover and that we will never know.

Did anyone watch the Derren Brown documentary years ago when he went and spent a few days with some communicators? Fascinating stuff. I was 100% convinced by their abilities when the program started and honestly thought Derren wouldn't be able to explain it.

By the end, I was 100% convinced it was a load of rubbish when Derren was able to do an accurate reading based on clever psychology and reading body language.

I would like to be proved wrong though!

This...........there have always been and always will be charlatans keen to exploit trust - the nature of mystery gives them that opportunity. But we would be ignorant in the extreme if we think that we, at this point in evolution, know everything there is to know, as Landcruiser says. Open- mindedness is what takes the human race forward.
For some reason, the difference in opinion around this issue causes some sceptics to feel they can be rude and insulting to strangers.

Yes, but my communicator was free, was a work colleague of a friend, did it for a hobby, knew nothing about me, or horses in general - she called the hock the "back knee" - and she was so accurate on specific details only I knew.... Not a charlatan, not out to fleece me, nice as pie ordinary woman who earned her money working at nationwide building society. That was what was so baffling about the whole thing, I will never be able to explain it.

Hi Landcruiser, sorry if I have misled in any way; I think your experience was the good side of all of this. No huge claims, no huge bills, and stuff you cannot explain.....
