I've just received a voucher in the form of a letter, entitling me to £150 off a puchase of any Anivac Animal Bathing System.

I obviously entered a competition for it, but don't remember where.

My OH is convinced that it is a scam as it is printed on 'cheap' paper, with no company logo etc.

I don't intend to purchase an Anivac thingy, but thought I might sell the voucher cheap on ebay - so now I am concerned!
I'll ring them in the morning, but for now, does anyone have any ideas if it could be a hoax or not?

Cheers.

Whether its a scam or not, any product where you "win" a voucher for £150 off immediately tells me that the Bathing System (???) would cost an arm and a leg at least! The usual rule of thumb is that if something looks too good to be true, it always is. Be cautious. Years ago, my dog started barking and when I went outside I found a balloon in the back garden. The tag attached said I had won a free carpet cleaning and ring to make an appointment. Long story short some vile salesman from the Double Glazing School of Selling came round and we had to ring the police after FIVE HOURS of hard sell of some stupid bloody cleaner that allegedly cleaned your carpet, your wedding ring, your chimney etc etc etc. He refused to leave our house! We think the dog barked because the poxy salesman had gone round the houses wedging ballons in people's back gardens to make damn sure people got one.

So I'd be very wary - did you enter a competition or is it all a hard sell?

Quite honestly, I suspect the only thing worth doing with it is binning it. I wouldn't try selling it incase (likely) that it is a scam. It's most likely an 'invitation' to talk to them and undergo their hard-sell.
