Good evening all! :)

I'm currently looking for an instructor in the Sussex area (around Brighton if possible) who can help me get going with my chunky cob again. I've been battling confidence issues really badly and I think it's time to get someone in to help me. :o
I feel a bit embarrased having to finally admit it but I want to be the person Ronnie needs and not some quivering idiot - I get really annoyed with myself about it and nearly always lay in bed at night upset and feeling guilty that I can't provide him with the instruction he deserves on my own. He's got a huge heart, it's just me being an idiot in my head.

Anyway, i've found this lady just by a simple google - she almost sounds too good to be true and so I thought it might be a good idea to ask if anyone has had a lesson or experience with her and what you thought? I really like the fact she seems to specialise in confidence building as well.

I'll include her website (I hope this abides with forum rules! ) if anyone recognises her this way. --->http://www.phoenixriding.net/

Thanks everyone, I think this is a positive step in the right direction :) x

Oh oh finally a thread I can actually contribute something useful to!

Really nice lady! Been having lessons with her on and off (as needed) for a while with my young gelding and very impressed. I have been riding for over 30 years, but my young horse really tested my nerves and left me feeling a bit lost. Anna took us right back to basics and it was quite a revelation to me to realise that I'd rushed my gelding and by the same token damaged my own confidence. In my opinion, she really knows her stuff and very friendly, but also knows her limitations which is important to me as I hate to be patronised haha!

She can patronise me until her heart's content if she so wishes, I probably need it!! :D
I also have a young gelding who, although perfect to handle on the ground, appears to have an imaginary rocket up his bum when a rider is on. There is nothing wrong with him, i've had the dentist and saddle fitter etc and I'm convinced he's just green and needs more schooling. In the mean time my nerves have been shot to death and I feel a bit stuck in the mud at the moment. :o

Glad to hear a positive reply! Thanks so much for replying and I hope things continue well for your boy :) x

Assuming Ronnie is the gorgeous coloured in your signature you will love her - she is mad about coloured horses.

I have never met her in the flesh but she is a regular on another forum I use and the only downside I can find is that she doesnt actually live near me:(. I just wish she would move to Scotland - I'd get lessons with her in an instant:D

He is indeed, the big fatty :D
I have to say I did notice her admiration for cobs and as she is based so close AND helps with confidence I wasn't sure if I had struck lucky or was subject to some insanely clever genie who had granted my wish from afar! :)

I'm sorry, I really must calm down.. the prospect of finally being able to consider riding without mimicking the breathing of a woman in labor is getting the better of me! :D
