Just kidding. Fancy joining me Vicki?

She is good fun, gets right to the heart of any problems. Don't think I jumped more than 2ft in the lesson I had with her. Did much more on the canter than anything else. A few kids from the yard also have lessons with her, they've loved it. Oh, and it's lessons rather than a clinic (in the way I understand the word anyway).

Doesn't everyone mix up Jane Annet and Annette Lewis? I thought it was a lady called Jane Annet (sp) who rode a horse called Pipakie or some such who was renowned for her very individual style. Annette's always looked rather conventional when I've seen her jump!

yes your right Jane Annette used to (and i think still does) have a horse caleld Pipakie the chestnut mare !!

Have heard from a BSJA course builder that Annette is very good but is not subtle and will tell you exactly what she thinks - personally I like that in an instructor but depends what you are looking for!

Yes Annette Lewis was the lady with the rather extravagant lower leg position! I remember Tutein jumping off the top of the Hickstead Bank too and I'm sure he still managed to jump the rails at the bottom! I also remember another time - possibly also at Hickstead - when Tuteins bridle snapped and she was left with no control at all and somebody ended up leaping out in front of the horse as he was just bolting round the ring and there wasn't a lot she could do other than wait for him to tire and pull up himself which wasn't looking like happening anytime soon.

My daughter did the BSJA Bronze training with her. I would agree that she is quite outspoken, and will tell it like it is. Not a bad thing, but not for the sensitive, I'd say.

My daughters' friend was made to get off her horse, and Annette got on. As soon as she got on, she got back off, picked up some grit from the floor, rubbed it all over the saddle, and said "that should be better now". The poor girl had spent the day before her training cleaning her tack to a lovely shine!.

I would recommend Annette - she really gets results. Enjoy.

Annette is very talented. I used to compete against her in open classes years ago (or should I say I used to turn up and let her beat me!) when she had Tutein. She did jump Nations Cup level and she knows what she is talking about, but cant vouch for her teaching, except for teaching me to accept defeat on a few occassions!
