Vent needed! Got a dressage Sunday doing a Prelim test. Nothing stressful there, however come to practice tonight and it's all going well but third time I do it, I go to make the wrong move and pony corrects me and does right move. I just always feel as I'm letting her down, she's always 3 steps a head of me when competing. And I know it's nothing I can change since she's got winnings, titles and whatever and I don't. I just always feel like she could do so well if I wasn't holding her back.
Vent.

*giggle* Pony has memorised the test! :D
In future, never practise the whole test in order. Do the movements in different orders, maybe stringing a few together, but make sure she's responding to your aids, not her memory. Make up your own tests on the spot, ones she doesn't know, and ride those. That should keep her on her toes, the clever girl.

Never thought of that, when I was younger it used to be amazing since I could just sit there once we'd gone through it but now I ride better I want her to listen, but I just feel like I shouldn't question her since she knows best.
Thanks though, liking the advice!

My pony does this jumping. She seems to get jump off but if I ask for a steady round I can hope in hell unless they've changed the first fence. Once she's jumped a course she knows which one's next and she goes for it.

My tb the same once he done a course of jumps he knows the route next time i just sit there he does it all. He never refuses or runs out easy peasy.
