I know there are much worse problems out there, but I'm really annoyed about this and need to vent!

A pony left our yard on Saturday and three of my water butts have disappeared with him. The yard owner hasn't taken them home to fill and my sister doesn't have them. The only person who could have them is the owner of the pony who left. I've called her and sent her messages (which I know she has read) and she is just ignoring me. It's so annoying, why do some people think it's ok to just steal someone else's things? Luckily they were second hand butts, so didn't cost the earth - but to replace new they are very expensive. Not much I can do I suppose, except mutter under my breath about it and quietly seethe. Raaaaaaaaa!

I don't know where they've gone - they were always very vague with info they gave to the yo. I've no idea of their surname even :(

Not sure the police would be interested in a couple of water butts tbh.

So annoying, hopefully you can still look after yours ok, take comfort that the pony that has gone is going to have water..I am a great believer of "what goes around comes around" for the owner. Let it go, " in the grand scheme of things" .. and all that. But, believe me, I do think you have every right to be fed up.

You can still report this to the police and get an incident no. unlikely they will do anything but then you can text the girl formally telling her that the theft of your property has been reported to the police and give her the incident no. STATE that you will be collecting them on *day/time* and that you require her address.

Worth a shot. I find calm formality scares wrongdoers most!

Yes do this. But only if you're absolutely sure she's taken them.

Thanks all. I might just do that Merlod. I doubt she'll care if it's been reported though, she doesn't seem to care much about anything. I can't be 100% certain as I didn't see her take them, but I'm pretty darn sure.

Could you do a bit of Facebook stalking of her - any mutual friends you could trawl through their friends list and wait until you see a photo you recognise? It might be worth a shot.

I don't know her surname unfortunately. I've tried searching for her on Facebook before (when there was a problem with her pony and we hadn't seen her for over a week) but with no joy. Might have another look but am not hopeful. I've messaged her on whatsapp so I know she's definitely seen my messages.

We had a dodgy family on our yard and were then asked to leave (been chucked off the previous one too as it turned out) and they removed everything from outside my stable in the process so I expect they took other peoples' stuff too that wasn't locked away. I bet if you ask around the other yards in the area discreetly, someone will know something.

if u have her number to whatsapp her , google it and type it into facebook , may well bring up any adverts etc she has had online and if number linked to her facebook u may find her and her surname xxxxxx
