Annoying sellers

Horse hunting at the moment and as well as the lack of anything interesting out there, I am now totally annoyed with most of the sellers I have spoken with. Last night I rang about a horse and he was sold - the seller politely apologised for not removing the advert and wasting my time. Not at all I thought - very polite gentleman. But this morning have been met with multiple rude sellers - I politely say "hello, I am ringing about the horse for sale" to which I am met with the response "FFS, not another one!" and have the phone put down on me! Another I have just rung did not pick up the phone - probably busy so will ring back later. But 2 seconds later I receive a text saying "whos this?". So I ring back and phone is put down - probably not able to take the call I think, so text reply saying "calling about horse for sale - is she still available?" No reply. So guess she is sold. I rang about another very nice one, slightly out of my budget, but worth a look type. Owner picked up and said "F*ing thing is F*ing lame - f*ing typical! And I am still getting idiots ringing up!" Again, owner put the phone down! Or course I have spoke to a few very nice owners, but horse was not as described (MASSIVE sarcoid on nose they forgot to mention!) or jsut not for me - but that is horses for you.

What I am trying to say is - Sellers, if your horse has sold or is temporarily unavailble due to lameness or whatever, please remove the adverts or update them to say so so I don't waste my time and yours. And even if you forget, please don't be rude and swear at me on the phone!

Rant over :)

Goodness! You have clearly been very unlucky. :(

I've been shopping recently and have dealt with some very pleasant people.

I hate it when sellers swear at you! It's not your fault they havnt taken down the advert.

Just think the horse was properly a pile of poo and not worth seeing anyways.
The right one will come along in time.

But this is one of the reasons I like to email sellers before phoning, I never text though.

Although I never had one text me back after I'd called, but I would answer back with a text if they text me first

Does this one have an email you could send, that almost sounds like the wrong telephone number has been put on the ad and some poor bugger keeps getting telephone calls about a horse they don't own, just in case it's a horse you would have been interested to follow up on.

Not removing adverts after it has been sold is a bug bear of mine as well, we're looking for a pony to loan for the kid and coming up against similar, fortuneately a very nive HHO seen something and we're off to see it tomorrow.

That is crazy, can't believe people would be that rude!

I am selling at the moment, and even though I work full time I am sneaking out to answer all calls. I have also answered any emails with as much info as possible.

Perhaps you have been unlucky, or its the price range you are looking at? Cheapies go quickly and people are just looking to move them on with as little hassle as possible.

Yep - after a cheapy :)

I have also had a lot of people who are not willing to ride the horse they are selling - if that is the case state sold from field and I won't bother calling! Lots will say - it's ok, you can just hop straight on!

er....don't think so!

Looking for a cheapy is the worst!

I hate the whole 'you need to decide right now, as I 've got someone else coming to view in half an hour, and they're bringing their lorry'!

I would not remove the advert myself until the transaction is complete because things do go wrong with supposedly sold horses that said I also was very polite to anyone ringing took their phone number and said horse was supposedly sold but would contact them if anything goes wrong.
There is no excuse for rudeness ever!

I dislike the adverts which say no timewasters - you turn up and the sellers turn out to be the timewasters. Havent been completely honest with you.
I went to see one who was described as perfect in everyway. I asked to see him caught and tacked up. He caught perfectly fine (so far so good) then seller tried to tack him up - teeth flying, legs flying, ears back - evil! I politely declined to go any further and told seller I was not going to tolerate that behaviour. they said he never did before - maybe, maybe not I wasnt going to take that chance!
And for the pricetag similar to that of a family car.

I don't see the point in not being totally honest from the start.

I only have limited time that I'd be available to show a horse off to someone, so I'd want to know they were compatible before they arrived! Pointless showing someone a horse if you know it's no good for them, and they won't get on with it!

I suppose it's naive to think that everyone is as honest as us! But I'd feel really guilty if someone was taking the time and effort to come and see a horse that I knew wasn't suitable.

There's no way I'd get on a horse that the owner wasn't willing to get on first either. Although I have bought one straight from the field before. Luckily it all turned out well, but thinking back it was madness!
