So sick of my YO at the moment, I've been asking for days now for straw, promised straw today, no straw. Think I'm been taken advantage of cause I'm the youngest person on the yard(17).They don't take me seriously among other things, I can't move to another place because I can't afford anywhere else in the area so can't move and YO knows that.

So annoyed don't know what to do !!!!!!!!!!!GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Sorry for the rant
:o

Keep asking.

Is the straw somewhere that you can fetch it for yourself? If so just say "Would it be OK if I got my own straw to save you the bother?"

YO's can be ******s sometimes, and sometimes they are just so busy running around chasing their tails that things do slip their minds.

My YO has got so fed up with running around doing yard work, maintenance and looking after other people's horses leaving no time or inclination for her own that she is selling up. The words were "I want my life back"

I understand what you mean about your age, and therefore not being taken seriously, as I have had it many times. Just make sure that they understand you know what you are talking about. They are actually providing you a service that you are paying them for, so therefore the level of respect should be the same both ways.
You need straw to keep your horses so maybe just say that, that you really need it for your horse, they can't not give you any quite simply. Im not saying to start an argument or anything like that, but just dont let yourself be walked over :) I have learnt that

Don't know if its because you are young, but if its any consolation, I've been on a few yards where liveries had to wait for days for both straw and hay. We used to stash a bit away in case the YO didn't deliver or borrow off each other.

I do agree, it is a bit annoying.

Does your YO buy in straw in big bales for the whole yard or does she buy it in for each livery?
Can you not ask if you can go and get it from where the straw is stored yourself? - assuming it's easily accessable that is

When you do get the straw bank the corners very high so you have anough for when you run low, or get yr dad to go to naylors and buy one of those big yellow bags only 4.50 and fill that and keep that locked away for those intermediate times, you have to plan, but right now just go and ask in a pleading voice that your pony is lying on concrete and his bed is smelling which will attract the flies so pleeeze can you have some straw TODAY.
