I need to have Ludo sedated to have his teeth done and I also need to have his annual injections done fairly soon. But just wondering whether it's advisable to have the injections done and then be sedated to have the teeth done? Could the sedation have an adverse effect on the boosters? I don't want to pay for two call outs if it can be avoided. Not to mention two lots of time off work!

I will, of course, ask the Vets when I ring them to book, it's just a Thursday lunchtime ponder .

Cheers

PS The vet who does the teeth is the practice's teeth specialist, so don't want to enter into a Vet Vs EDT debate. I could use an EDT who is a vet (but only does teeth now) and can sedate, but that would still need the vet to come out and do the annual boosters so we're back at the two visits issue :)

Yes no problem to do sedation and vaccinations at the same time.

I had the vet out to my horse a couple of weeks ago for full health check, boosters, blood tests and teeth rasping.

She sedated my horse as soon as she got there and then gave her, her boosters, took bloods, micro chipped her and then finally rasped her teeth...poor girl would have felt like a pin cushion if she has been with it I am sure!

It worked out fine, my horse is a nightmare to do her teeth and a little needle shy. One injection and she was away with the fairies for the duration of the vets visit and good as gold for her teeth rasping :p
