Surgery performed three weeks ago. One healing fine the other leaking fluid for last two weeks. Vet been backwards and forwards ten times. I’d love to hear some good stories of horses that have had these complications and made a good recovery. No signs of infection.

Mine wouldn’t come sound. His fetlock was still swollen 6 months later. I eventually requested another referral to the hospital. He was scanned a a bone chip was found. Vet prescribed a high dose of Bute and he was sound within a few weeks. That was around 6 years ago and no issues since.

It may well be worth you going back to the vet that did the surgery. It could be cheaper in the long run.

Mine was operated on in Oct 2017. She was still lame in March 2018 and after more scans and X-rays it was decided she had scar adhesions on the tendon sheath and probably would never be a riding horse again. It's now Feb 2018 and sometimes when she trots across the field she looks sound, other times not. There were no complications after surgery. Only had the surgery as she was insured and it does have a good recovery rate.
