My daughters little welshie has an annular ligament injury which she did in the field (shes a bit of a scatty mare!!). She came in (while we were on holiday) on 3 legs and in an awful lot of pain and has been on box rest ever since on advice of the vet and also had scans to see the damage (ligament thickened and quite a bit of inflammation around the area). After 3 weeks total box rest vet said to start walking her out in hand and we built this up to 40 mins over 2 weeks (although the area was still thickened she trotted up sound) and we have slowly added some trot into her work to build her up. The area is still very thickened and sometimes a little warm to touch (although she has no lameness) , i would say after 7 weeks it still feels the same accept she isnt lame anymore.

Just wondered if anyone else's horse has had such an injury? How long did it take to heal? and did the horse come back 100%? How was your horse treated??
