Annular ligament injury

My horse went extremely lame 4 weeks ago. Hopping lame in walk and trot. Had the vet come out who immediately thought foot abscess. Given danillon and put on box rest. 3 weeks later no improvement. Vet came back out and noticed small swelling around digital sheath. Today she went to Liphook. Nerve blocks suggested it was in that region. X rays rules out any brakes and ultra sound showed annular ligament was swollen. Nothing torn luckily but very swollen. Vet suggested shock wave therapy so she had the first treatment at the hospital today. She is currently out in a small paddock as she is still very lame. Walk is much better but trot still very lame.

Just wondering whether anyone has any experience of this type of injury? What treatment you used and what the result was? Did try come back into work? If so how long until they came into work?

Just going through the same thing with mine, pulled up lame and initially abcess was suspected. Then farrier thought navicular. After a month of treating for that with quiet turnout there is still a small lump on tendon sheath. Fetlock responded to flexion so vet thinks it's prob annular ligament. He's not lame on that leg though. Just awaiting diagnosis but horse is now lame elsewhere too - so in a bit of a pickle! I will watch this thread though...
