Another 0.5kg weight gain for Islay :)

I know, I know, you don't really care but you are lovely and humour me by posting lovely positive replies :)

I weighed Islay at the vets tonight and she has gained another 0.5kg in a week :) :) She is starting to look noticeably better, she is 23.5kg now and I am aiming for her to get back to 26kg which is what she weighed a couple of years ago.

After losing Jura in 2008, who just faded away in front of my eyes and would not put weight on, I was pretty paranoid about Islay's weight, now I am feeling hugely relieved :)
 
Haha......she'll soon be too heavy to have on the bed!!

Lucky old Islay, couldn't you be kind and give the others just a tiny bit of breakfast?!
 
I do feel a bit mean - the others wouldn't hurt from a little bit, so I could be persuaded to start including them every morning :) Islay already has too many sticking-out feet to be on the bed, she specialises in stretching out and trying to push me off :D
 
I always used to feed the greyhounds twice a day - I can't actually remember why I changed to once a day? Other than it is easier I suppose. I think it was when Cayla said she only fed hers once a day, so I thought if it was OK for her it was OK for me :D
 
You'll be complaining soon she's too fat! Glad she is putting the weight on well. I give Evie a small token breakfast when Freya has hers as F is so active she doesn't hold weight. Mind you she is being spayed next week(gulp) so might fatten up a bit afterwards. :)
 
I am all prepared to provide cyber-support on the day MM, although I am absolutely sure Freya will be fine :) I am keeping a close eye on Islay, I really really hate fat greyhounds so she is being carefully monitored :D She will be livid if I stop feeding her breakfast mind you :p
 
Thats good news and I can understand your worry, I feed mine twice a day, always have always will.

MM Pips 10days after spay is tomorrow, she has been fine except she didnt like being crated or confined to the kitchen as I had a Lab pup staying and my foster dog so we played musical crates for a few days. Freya will be fine as she is a young healthy dog and if you want some support just shout.
 
I'm glad Pip is doing well. Keeping Freya quiet is going to be a challenge, particularly as her very best friend in all the world Pickle is now back here. She is luckily very happy in her crate but suspect I won't be able to have them all together loose watching tv with me as they are now as she will be bouncing off the walls.
