Another BD dressage report

After getting my good friend to transport me to BD venue about 30miles away and act as my groom which was fab, normally never have a groom

and always have to drive aswell

Warmed up for first test lovely and when into test and handbrake came on

why o why o do i ride like a div in first test

.
When back to lorry again had another stiff talking so was up for next test, then we had a bit a ring gamesmanship to deal with, there is no need for folks to be soo.......... rude in warm up, i always end up laughing at them. And did have last laugh as when i was doing meduim canter down longside, said rider, did have to sit well so therefore decided that she couldn't bully me and then decided to warm up correctly and ride left to left etc..............
But getting back to my boy

really pleased how he did second test, so redeemed my riding

. Mother turned and give gg huge carrot and pat for being super star, plus bacon butty for rider

Ended up 6th in first test P12-60.8% and more importantly for me N25-63.6% and 2pts

to which i'm very very happy with. I'm sure not in ribbons cos huge class but i'm chuffed to bits as did feel that in 2nd test did horse justice.
Then on way home got stopped by VSOA(sp) had horsebox pulled in checked and weighed-no problem with lorry but does make you think that keeping your lorry up together is soo.......... important cos i have heard of people being stopped and then not allow to continue with journey cos over weight etc..........

thats worrying about the lorry weighing

I keep telling my she should take ours on a weigh bridge but she dosent understand and thinks that as its a 7.5t it wont get overwieght - we have SO many arguments about it......

Blimey, so they are really checking weights? How do they weigh it? I thought they made you go to a weighbridge.

ive just phoned mum and we've organised to take it to be weighed this saturday on the way back from my competition, so it will be fully laden.

ooo yes it was in layby with transport dept bysides that had a public weighbridge in dept and you had to drive very slowly over a stripe in road and then weight was flashed up. Then then they ask you to park. Had to produce driving licence and got ask if running lorry as business. Then went and checked all light and brakes, then a mechinic(sp) went around and checked all tyres and wheels etc and just checking if any thing was out of place.Whilst inspector was chatting to us, but passed with flying colour but have heard on grapevine about people failing and being stopped and having to get another vehicle out to take horse home and of course that vehicle was checked before they could transfer horses

good plan, but i bet you'll be fine unless you've got lots of toys in your living of lorry

well she spoke to our garage and as our lorry is a brand new build (well 16months old now) its made from lightweight materials, plus we've removed one partition from it aswell - anyways, garage said it would definately be underweight easily, but im making sure we take it just for peace of mind!

i brought it as a new build - it had never been used basically! Ad the chasis had done a very low mileage.
