Having finally got the hang of the BD website I have managed to join and register Jenny online. I am now planning our first affiliated outing. There is a BD venue local to me (literally 5 minutes drive) holding an event on the 20th. The problem is the entry closes on the 5th and I am assuming that the BD offices will be closed until the New Year and so I won't have either mine or Jennys membership numbers to go on the entry form. Do you think this will matter as I assume I will have them before the actual competition on the 20th and be able to give them to them then or will I just have to be more patient and delay our dressage debut?
Thanks.

When you do your entry just write a note saying numbers to follow and most venues are ok. If you are unsure ring your venue and check with them personally, but in most instances as long as they have them by the time they send the results off they don't mind

Okay. Thank you. I have emailed the secretary but to get the entry there by the 5th I will probably have to post it tomorrow anyway. I will put a note in explaining and hope for the best. I expect I'm ok for the prelim anyway as I have done some prelims without being a member anyway but if they aren't happy about it I can just not do the novice this time.
Oh sorry another question - am I right that I would be in the restricted section not the open? Thanks.

If you have never got points under BD rules & the horse does not come with points from a previous owner, you will be fine to do Prelim or novice. Yes you would be in the resticted section. If either of you have points the rules are slightly different.

Good luck
