Another BE lost..

Feel I need to enter the september 3DE just for old times sake.
Any care to lend me a horse?

Got a 14.2 that goes really sweetly with a bloke on him if you fancy it? :p

A real shame though, I think I need to make sure we go schooling there this summer then as it looks to have great facilities but have never been despit it not being far.

Gutted. Completing their unaff. 3DE has always been a goal of mine, but I don't see that we'll get there this year . Does anywhere else do a good unaff. 3 day?

I travelled there one year to do the 3DE in May. It was the worst weekend and all the other events in the country (BE) were cancelled due to the horrendous weather. We were wet for three days but it was worth it as we won. :)
When I got home (5 hours in lorry) I turned my mare out only to find her upside down in a ditch a day later :( The fire brigade had to pull her out and I'd thought I'd lost her. She made a full recovery and we went on to event. It just shows how up and down owning horses is!!!!!!!!

Spoke to Fiona yesterday and the xc course will remain open for schooling, the turbine is planned to be positioned by the quarry (down the hill and the field to the right).
She said for the amount of money they need to invest to get things like the toilets / showers up to speck will take 5 years to recoup and she doesn't have 5 years worth of energy left in her.
Shame as it's been a fab venue right from the start but I must admit it would be my idea of fun running a venue of that size.

Yes, their plan was to own it for 10 years then sell up and move down south to be near her dad. Trouble was, the 10 years was bang in the middle of the recession. They moved her dad up to live with them instead.

Just noticed an error in my previous post. Should say 'it is far from my idea of fun running a venue like that'
