Well after being tucked up all winter and really looking forward to new season, it arrived with a lovely 5.20am start

Well action pack day really for all wrong reasons - lose horse going through dressage warm up and my boy really unable to go straight and forward and same time. So after test really not happy bunny, but judge saw something she liked so 39

On to next phase and normal best by miles - thank god. But by the time i had arrived at xc steward, there was a hold on course due to injured horse (which sadly was put down................ so sad for all connection).
So 45min later after again not the best of warm ups i was on a mission for good solid clear, walking across to starting box with fleshwagon in view

Got to no 8 and he locked onto PN fence and i couldn't stop him - bu88er it, jumped it and pulled with all my might and managed to turn and represent to correct Intro fence, now really did kick for home. He jump beautifully if a bit big and taking odd strides out

, yes he did pulled my arms but at least we jumped correct course. Very happy at end of course, BUT the Ginn said i was given 20 for run out!!!

Luckly TA was passing in car, so i stopped him and had chat and explained that i didn't run out at no 8 as couldn't present, but came back and presented correctly to intro fence and could he have chat to fence judges and get my 20 pens removed.
About hour later spoke to TA and yep 20 pens were removed

Well done sounds like he is glad to be out again! Not the best place to be if your steering is out. Should be more settled next time.

yeah not good............... feel very sorry for rider and connections, i heard(but don't know how true) horse broke down on course, so not fence related

Not the easiest of starts, a loose horse running round, there were plenty of airs above the ground yesterday too, I think because the horses could see the XC from the warm up.
CCJ had steering trouble at one fence yesterday, the string was so close to the landing point, she said she had never seen one like that before, and only just missed it.
I didn't realise you could represent if you jumped a wrong fence, Jack did that at Pontispool when he did the PN option instead of the Intro, and got instantly eliminated. (or did you mean you just almost jumped it?)
Belmont is pretty twisty compared to many places, no real chance to gallop is there?
Not a bad day for you though by the sounds of things, but how sad a horse was injured. Did you hear what had happened? Poor owners it must be their worst nightmare to go home with an empty box..

WELLDONE

.
Aha, I do love your boy Spud

. Jen told me alittle about today and said that you didn't have many breaks as spud was clearly on a mission bless him

The rule is you have to jump all your classes fence in correct order, BUT if you did what i did - SO long as you go back and rejump YOUR CORRECT class fence and also remember NOT to cross tracks, you'll only get the time hit, NOT the big E any more.

But you can still E if you jump fence with cross flag on it.

Sorry haven't heard but very sad

Well done sounds like you horse was challenging today but sounds full of promise!

I heard that the horse broke its leg

But of course what you hear and what actually happened arent always the same thing! Felt very sorry for them.

thx - I am hoping that he was just him beening a bit fresh!! and first run of season. Going to try and re-think what i need to do:
Defo cut his hard feed back
Rider to Stop teaming chasing!!! and
Going to try to and find Sj on grass to jump

psssssssss xc images now load on PG - it could/will explain alot
