I think you might have got the idea by now that it was errr slightly muddy! I thought it only rained like that here in Stranraer
wink.gif
Arrived on Thurs pm & sat around watching people skidding in safe in the knowledge that the rain would soon subside & we could then put up the borrowed extra large tent that we had been meaning to practise putting up but never got round to
blush.gif

Ok so it never did stop & at about 9pm in the fading light & peeing rain the said tent was pitched. Definitley a relationship tester if ever there was one

It was a huge relief to us lot who had travelled about 8 hours to get there when the event went ahead on Friday, 3 cheers to Nigel Taylor & the BRC team

It was the OH in action this time as part of an Intermediate team & he was 1st in his arena on Friday afternoon, I personally thought he did a great test so we were very

to find he got 36.2 sadly the judge didnt share our enthusiasm. I did video on my camera but not really good enough quality to post here for you lot to decide.

As mentioned on Sat phases A & D went ahead. Phase A being a slightly pointless warm up but a bit of fun & we werent too bothered about the lack of steeplechase as the jumps looked tiny - did anyone else think that?

Echo absolutely stormed round the XC & finished bang on the OT which moved them up to 6th in their arena at the end of the day.

Sunday's trot up was no probs, they nearly looked smart, except the footwear

Opps that is the 1st trot up, nevermind you get the idea!

The show jumping was lovely & on a nice surface. All of our team & supporters were there to cheer on Echo & we all had St Andrews cross flags in our pockets - just in case he jumped a clear round. To our great delight he did - cue muchly cheering & flag waving

So finished on the dressage score & came 5th individually.

Had a great time despite the mud. Who was that jammy person that had a shower up at Nigel's house? We had the most fun, got bored in the queue for the single shower on Sat eve & sourced a hose in Nigel's yard..... washed hair & everything........ Luckily kept the undies on as turned out we had a bit of an audience

Echo in his house

Very briefly met Dingle & Carthorse. A huge well done to the winning Hustler family - what a result

Hey well done - your attitude to washing sounds similar to mine - half hour queue for the girl's showers at Burgie, boy's empty. Quick word with one rather well known pro on the way in

and five minutes later I was showered and changed whilst the girl's queue hadn't moved an inch. Managed not to look toooooooooo superior as I passed them

All the mud should have been ample practice for Blair though...

So are you going to allow them to do a Nov now?

Great to meet you.I think everyone did an amazing job to run it all, shame about the juniors not going xc but I thought it went really well. On Sunday we were parked by the house and out of the mud which was a treat. Are you going to Lincoln?

Erm, we had showers in Nigels house saturday night as he grabbed us and two others who were at then end of the queue!

Was lurvely to have a nice proper hot shower I have to say!! Felt clean (albeit only for a few hours!)

Glad you had a good time - we did the novice and the ground for xc on sunday was great. Shame to not have done the SC and 2nd R&T but, in all honesty it was so hot I didn't really mind.

I also think the dressage judges were pretty tight though!!!

GB - **whispers very quietly** they have already had a go at a Nov, it was allowed after the qualifier & before the Champs. I checked & double checked. They had 4 flts SJ & clear XC with 6 time at Eglinton. Having a wee break & then Hutton Nov & Aske BE100 Regional Final then that will do for this season. Cant be bothered with Witton again. I sincerely hope Blair isnt anything like that, it will be sunny & clean!

Carthorse - Penfold is really cool, a bit like The Queen's horse Peter Pan. Hope to meet you again when there is a bit less running around to do - I was chef d'equipe!! Not going to Lincoln, qualified last year but not keen enough on dressage or show jumping to make the journey. So this year didnt go to the Areas as think its a bit naughty if you dont intend on going to the Champs.

The corner pic is quite good isnt it -might have to get it

Great report and result and lovely pics. It seems to me that this particular BRC champ is going to be remembered for ages as the year of the mud but you all sound as if you had a huge amount of fun - and isn't that why you all do it

Well done... My dressage judge was very kind to me I think.. I deserved a mark well in the 50's!!

Always the way when you think you have done a really nice test though... but good result anyway so well done and great pics x

thanks for the big well done Joss...was a great course and huge well done to you too. also finished bang on optimum time, thought the XC was really good and despite the rain the ground was great. Wish i was going back tomorrow to go round again for the BE!
