Ok colour experts. Please help with this one.

What colour is Sorbs? I thought she was a cream dun but now not sure. She could be some sort of palomino. She doesnt have a dorsal stripe.

Thanks in advance.:)

She goes quite dark in the summer, so has some black in her somewhere.

She looks like a buckskin with a silver dilution to me or maybe just bay with silver as her legs are lightened.

What a very pretty little mare.:)

She would (collequially) be described as a sooty palomino where I am.
Sooties have more dark hairs in their manes and tails, genetically (and correctly) I haven't got a clue;) Darker ones, almost the old fashioned liver chestnut (which she isn't, to the eye, in this particular photo) with the blonde to gray mane and tail are called chocolate palominos here, but colours have different names. For example Pie/skewbalds, or 'coloureds' simply don't exist, everything is loosely termed 'Paint' even though technically, only APHA's are Paints, anything else is a pinto.

I am sticking like glue to my belief, and preference, that palominos should be golden of various shades with white/blonde manes and tails.

I would have said a sooty Palomino also x

Thanks! She is registered as palomino because we didnt really know what colour she was! Then i asked someone with a similar coloured pony and they said Cream Dun. Having looked on the links i think Sooty palomino is right.

Thanks Enfys. She is a bit sweet really! Hence why I have still got her. I wont ever sell her as she is very easy to keep and a good companion for Presshus AKA Dozzie. I could do with someone to ride her tbh, but she is a bit sensitive and needs good hands. She is a poppet with beginners but a bit more feisty with more experienced riders, not bad but fast as she has good movement so covers the ground. When my niece was small she used to walk round without anyone leading her. The littlies could do anything with her. She just sort of knew that they were little people and needed looking after. :)
