Found in The Sun this morning. There is a picture online along with the story but it's horrid.
------
A WOMAN was banned from owning animals for life after she kept 59 dogs stacked in cages at a “puppy factory”.

Cruel Johanna Price, 71, left the dogs lying in their own mess with no food or water.

She fed them Chinese takeaway and raw chicken carcasses — then sold the terriers, Jack Russells, whippets and sausage dogs for up to £475 each.

Seven of the dogs later died.

RSPCA officer Jo Story said: “The smell was unbear-able. I’ve never seen conditions like this.

“She was certainly making a lot of money out of it.”

Price, of Bournemouth, Dorset, refused to let the RSPCA re-house the dogs while the case was heard — costing the charity £200,000 to keep them.

She was found guilty of animal cruelty charges but fined just £100 by Bournemouth JPs.

A fine of £100 and a banning?! She should pay the charity what it has cost them to keep the poor animals.

So she should indeed. Crikey how many more people are doing this? I don't know whether we can take much more information on these cruel people before becoming slightly immune to it and getting accustomed to their behaviour.

Mind you raw chicken carcasses are actually very good, as long as they're raw, that's almost the BARF diet, which is excellent. But the smell must have been bad!

She sounds like a greedy, dirty, heartless, bully. I expecte the dogs spent their whole lives in a mess a never got out to stretch their legs.

How could anyone have paid for them and been in there without protesting in a big way?

have you missed some noughts off the end of that fine amount?

It's not a punishment or a deterant or even a smack on the wrist. There needs to be some sort of uprising in this country against the government, the Judges etc about the levels of so called justice thet mete out.

Cant the RSPCA charge her for the care of the dogs? Get the debt collectors after her and the bailiffs and take all her possessions then put her in a tiny little cage and see how she likes it.

I am feeling terribly terribly sickened by all these stories of horrid rotten down right scum of society!

If I could I would go and slap/thump/ wallop/ tie to a post for all to see all there people. Some night get shot. (I have PMT!!)

The behaviour of some people is just so despicable!!!!. The fines etc imposed are just laughable and serve as no real deterrent. Sadly the laws in this country just do not help!!

Damn the horrid spite little woman must of been laughing all the way to the bank with a £100 fine that is just under a fifth of what she was charging for one dog.
Was the judge asleep throughout the trial, and just woke up at the ended because with a sentence like that handed out i can see no other excuse for his leniency

Now you see for anyone who thinks I was a little heartless about horse charities in my last post about the neglected horses - I reckon the fair thing to do would be to fine the woman £200,000 to repay the costs incurred by the RSPCA?

If everyone who had animals removed by a charity had to pay the costs as part of a fine, then the public, including responsible people who only keep animlas they can afford to keep in the right and proper way, would not have to donate to animal charities, and human charities might reap the rewards!

The problem is the people get prosecuted then buck up for a bit, the RSPCA backs off and then slowly they do it again!
Next door to my sister in Devon lives a woman prosecuted for having 70 dogs in awful conditions. My sister had no idea they were thin or so many were there, but when she went to court she got a fine and a ban from having anymore than 15 dogs for five years.
She cleaned up her kennels, put movement lights on her yard so no-one can get in to see how many dogs are actually there. The noise would indicate at least thirty to me. There could be 60...
Now the RSPCA know all about it but what do they do ? Ring in advance and book a time to see her and the dogs. The extra dogs miraculously disappear that day and they see 15 fit healthy ones.
I have no time for the RSPCA whatsoever, if they are inspecting someone already under police constraint they should go on spec and have the right of entry, otherwise let the police deal with it.
I read tonight that the man re the dead horses was known to them and under investigation. If that is true, they should hang their heads in shame. Anyone investigated and warned should be kept a note of and a close eye on..
I hope this wasn't someone they already knew was likely to mistreat his stock...
