Another DD gem...

I like how they will happily bomb it round over jumps but it still needs practice picking its feet up. Just asking for major issues when its older, poor baby *sigh* x

I won't show you pics of my "rising 3" yr old then.....he was being ridden round our field today at a full gallop by a giant over weight....clump of mud :D
On a serious note, I agree if looked after our horses can give us many years of riding, why the big hurry to back them? Why can't people just let them be babies?

Yes! When Ned came to the yard, he had been handled and obviously even ridden or driven...but it had all been done very badly. I have quite literally just been able to brush his hind legs, without a grumpy face, ears back, a stamp or even lashing out! This is after about a year of concentrating on making him better. Though, bare in mind I only see him once a week. I hope to be picking his hinds up shortly after I pass my driving test and can see him more frequently.

Seriously, I'm surprised Ned didn't come from that site. We do think he was an ex gypsy road racer, or similar. Poor boy.
 
it is a nice stamp of a horse! bet with the right owners and several years out of work he'd look even better
