Another dog attack in the news

Poor lad, what a dreadful ordeal for him and his grandmother. Hope he makes a full recovery.

If its someone local Im sure its only a matter of time before they catch the owner who was a terrible coward running away and not stepping in to help the lad.

i've heard about this three times on the radio today. I feel very sorry for the little boy, but very angry at the owner. It just makes the Rottweiler reputation even worse when they are infact very sweet dogs.

Aww I hope the boy will be ok and not scarred physically - he probably will be mentallly though. A few years ago I was pulled to the ground by a dog and it started biting and clawing my hair. This was inside my old school's grounds where the dog shouldn't have been!
I only stopped being afraid of dogs when I got a dog of my own which was 3 years later... I now absolutely love dogs and know so many that are friendly!

The owner of the dog in Essex should have at least owned up to what his dog has done, made sure the seven year old was ok and got the dog a muzzle.

If given the chance, almost every dog could have a friendly temperament and personality. It just shows how many irresponsible owners are out there that don't bother training their dogs correctly...

That must have been absolutely terrifying for the Gran and the little boy - poor kid :(

My sister was attacked by a Rottweiler. When she was a little girl (about 10 I think) she was staying with her best friend whose mother bred and showed them. The two little girls were lying on the sitting room floor watching television when suddenly, without any provocation the stud dog who had lived as part of the family all his life, turned on my sister and attacked her.

Fortunately the mother was in the room and got the dog off her but my sister still has the scars on her face 25 yrs on albeit hardly noticeable anymore.
