We need to get a new dog bed for our 2 labs... one is elderly- 11 y/o and the other is a 2 y/o whos a bit of a digger so it needs to be quite durable.
Our older lab is quite stiff so it needs to be padded and they also like having one of those edge things to put their heads on...
We don't have loads to spend, but obviously the older dog needs a good bed as they are currently on a selection of rather useless flat beds.
Don't think we need to have a memory foam one, but open to all ideas/suggestions

Hmm ours is not the exact make but thats the closest you can get in the UK.

OUr hasn't stained at all but we bought the cover to go over it too.

Its squishy but not so squishy that they struggle to get up from it.

Its also got a bit of weight to it so they can't drag it around so much (abe does but he struggles)

Abe won't lay anywhere without it. He is currently laid in the sun in the garden on it.

There was 3 different sizes to our one.

Pets at home have some own brand cheaps ones atm (as long as you don't mind bright colours

) We have the same problem - one bed is shared by a 14 yr old goldie and a 6yr old lab

We have the giant blue PAH one for Dax and I'm actually quite impressed, it's squishy but supportive and has survived being through the washing machine twice despite saying not to wash it.

i've got mine on a really big rectangular piece of firm 6" foam covered with fabric (OH saw it in a skip!) and on top i have that fleecy vetbed stuff and various fleeces they can wrap themselves in. it's ideal, keeps them well up off the hard floor, and i can wash the fleeces easily in the machine.

JoG- that is the kinda thing with high edges- they love to snuggle into each other!

annoyingly we have a foam thingy- flat one, but its just too thin and not supportive/high enough up off the ground for the old one :/
going to have a browse on pets at home. they seem good prices etc!

they have lots of rug things but still not enough padding for him- his hips are a bit sore and the younger one likes to curl up really tight into him! :s

I had to get beau (my 18mnths old BC) a new bed (as he shredded his other one!) and seeing as he just got diagnosed with hip dys I decided to get him a memory foam one.

I actually got mine from a store on Ebay.

It is EXACTLY the style that you want, and the centre rectangle of foam is memory foam and the outer raised bits are normal foam! It cost me £60 including P&P and its washable and she can put a waterproof lining in it aswell. The lady was very nice about the whole situation so if you would like I can send you her details..........

I've just recently ordered a made to measure mattress as mine prefer it a bit firmer and wanted it to fit into a recess. So impressed with it - I put fitted sheet over the top and single duvet. Easy to wash and they love it. Mine is very large, just gave measurements and it was £40 delivered!
