To avoid a dog that wandered into the road whilst its owner walked on in front meant i slammed on the brakes and got hit by the car behind me!

Hopefully its just paint damage on the bumper but getting it checked by mechanic tomorrow.

The owner was adamant the dog wasn't in the road....ummm why would i just stop for no reason?
And to top it off she then said the dog wasn't on an extending lead.....so what was the useless lump of plastic she was holding in her hand then?!!!

Oh dear:eek: Hope it is not too expensive to sort out:(

There is an old guy that walks a lovely old lab on one of these near to me, I love to see the pair of them out as they clearly love each other dearly, but his choice of lead gives me the heebie jeebies every time I drive past them:eek:

Ouch, hope the damage isn't too expensive. I narrowly missed pooch the other day. A bloke wondering along with no idea where his dog was, I was pulling out of a car park and realised the piece of plastic in his hand might just mean there was a dog somewhere, a little scratty terrier the opposite side of the car park exit to him!

I have to have two on extenders, one is a bolter and one has dementia and is deaf but never ever extended on the side of the road! I see so many people wandering along way in front or behind the dog and they don't seem to have the least idea the dog can go sideways, I just want to yell at them for being so damn stupid.

I share your hatered!!!

I particularly dislike the extendable leads around the horses, you seem them coming on a road/bridlepath and think "Please, please retract and secure the stupid lead before it gets wrapped around the horse's legs and we all die!!!"

Booboos, that reminds me, Henry and I had our legs scythed out from under us a few weeks ago by some moron with a dog on an extender - dog on one side of the path, owner on the other, and a tripwire in between the two! Poor Henry, he never expected to be doing agility:rolleyes:

Like any tool they are as good as the person using them (have used both an extender and a long line and must say I much prefer long lines personally) but unfortunately it seems that many of the people using them are, in fact, morons...:p

We have people do that on the a286 here! Stupid nearly hit a young beagle once. Also I am no expert but I just see it as poor training, even my pup (will post new pics soon) walks next to me on the lead, not miles infront. Teal heels like a dream but I wouldn't dare walk him without a lead on the road.

Ouch! I hope there isn't too much damage.

It really annoys me when people don't use extending leads properly because they are actually really useful things and should be no problem to use. However, some people will always manage to ******* a good thing up
