Apologies if this comes across as gushy but am still on a high from earlier!!!
So am doing first " Proper " HT on Monday on my Mare & its taken nearly 2 yrs to get me to this stage ....
So training went great during the week & after lesson the other day my Instructor suggested making most of outing & also doing pairs with a very good friend of mine.... thankfully she agreed..
So today we walked course together & agreed on plan of action & then headed back to yard via Fruit & Veg shop to pick up couple pumpkins as we were told by organiser fence No1 will have a row of pumpkins underneath lol so we wanted to introduce the horses to them in advance...
We spent a bit of time working on trotting & cantering to establish pace together etc before starting to jump & then we just kicked on with jumping the course rather than practicing over indivdual fences as tried to emulate what it will be like on the day - OMG both horses were total rockstars... after a short break made up different course & both were hoof perfect, well appart from my Mare nearly falling up the bank...
My Mare was in front & WOW totally settled as had company & my friends horse was loving getting to follow his girlfriend so didn't get strong or look at anything EVEN the pumpkins.....
2 Very happy riders - finished off session with walking around on the buckle... Days like today where EVERYTHING goes perfect are few and far between...
I was a bit nervous of letting my friend down as I was in front but for some reason my nerves didn't kick in as I thoroughly enjoyed having the company and it gave me confidence !! So thank you to that particular person, hopefully she reads this
