Does anyone remember Horse in the house with a horse called Orbit. Or what about Follyfoot/Farm. Black Beauty etc

I used to watch 'White Horses' or whatever it was called every summer holiday for years. It was an eastern European programme, badly dubbed but I loved to watch those beautiful horses.

Think thats what set me off with horses

I remember all of those programs and used to watch them all. We used to see Orbit at some of the shows we used to go to. Some times in the stallion parade - he was lovely. Used to have all the books as well ! God im going back a few years

I do, all of them I'm afraid!! Never been able to find anyone else who remembers Horse in the House, can't remember much about it but knew it wasn't just my imagination. Mrs E, do you remember Belle and Sebastian, another East European job, not horsey but on at the same time as White Horses I think. My OH bought me the boxed set of Black Beauty dvds last year on Ebay. I spent my whole childhood begging for a pony (with no success) based on that beautiful black horse who never put a hoof wrong, oh how I was misled

I can remember Follyfoot and Black Beauty but never heard of house with a horse.
I am currently watching the heartland series that has just started on E4.Brilliant programme.

I do remember Belle and Sebastian. My brothers and I used to pretend we were some of the characters and wander round the garden shouting 'Belle, Belle' in a sad voice!

That lad needed to get a lead on that dog, he was always losing it!

My little brother wouldn't join in, he was more a double deckers/banana splits sort of guy!! Is anyone else on this thread feeling their age? It dates us a bit doesn't it!!

I used to read all the books, which were mostly waaay before my time - Jill's Gymkhana and the Pullein-Thompson ones and all that. I wished SO much that I'd been born a few decades earlier when you could buy a pony fora few quid and keep it in your back garden...

wow they all take me back used to love Follyfoot!- another one i remember is 'if wishes were horses' i think thats what it was called...

I used to watch Black Beauty, Follyfoot, Champion the Wonder Horse and something called Silas.
I also used to watch Belle & Sebastian too

It's tragic that they no longer have the tapes of White Horses as I'd love to watch the series again.

What about The Virginian, not exactly horsey, it was a western series but one of the good guys had the most beautiful palomino horse I had ever seen, used to drool over him (the horse, not the cowboy) every week.

The Virginian was brilliant and also High Chaparal

I'm loving this thread

ETA: I always wanted Manolito's Mexican tack

I still have my copies of the Jill, Jackie and Pullein-Thompson books!

Programme wise I remember Black Beauty, Follyfoot, If Wishes Were Horses... ooh and The Black Stallion, although that was a film I believe!

I am so old I used to love watching Mr Ed! Sadlyalso the song has just popped into my head!

So, it is no use you all calling yourselves old! I do remember the Virginian though and High Chaperal (think there was a lovely palomino in that but of course, at my age, memory and all that!!)

All of these bring back so many memories and yes, I'm feeling my age too! I also watch the White Horses clip on You tube so frequently.

I remember Horse in the House - the horse who played Orbit was really called Mandao or something. He stood at stud and was often in the Stud or Show numbers of Horse and Hound i those days.

Again, not stricly horsey but I used to watch it 'cos it always seemed to have loads of horses in it and had a great theme tune - does anyone remember "The Flashing Blade"?

Black Beauty was filmed here where I live, they had the farm for 3 years. We still have people come down now and again to see the stable he was born in!

I didn't get to watch Follyfoot, I did see a couple of episodes of Horse In The House and always wanted to try doing that!

I remember a show called Horses Galore which was an information type show (rather than a drama) with a blonde woman who's name I've now forgotten keeping us updated with what was going on in the horse world.

I remember The Flashing Blade, White Horses and Belle and Sebastian

I also remember Champion the Wonder Horse...

Forget Manolito's mexican tack, I had such a crush on the man himself, I was only about 10 at the time, that's so wrong!!! I used to get the High Chapperal annual at christmas, happy days.

I loved White Horses, I had the single and would put it on and canter round mum's lounge!!
