I remember the Black Stallion and the Black Stallion Returns, National and International Velvet, Black Beauty, Follyfoot Farm, My Little Pony! She-Re (Swiftwind and Spirit!)....gosh this takes me back!

I think they actually made a follow on series called Belle, Sebastian and the Horses, and I used to love Bonanza, Litte Joe (played by the lovely Michael Landon, I think that was his name), had a gorgeous piebald horse. But this is in the mists of my memory, does any one remember a programme, think it was American and cowboys, with a black horse called Fury?

My sister and I used to play on the two rocking horses in the local park, (the very long ones with seats for about 6 people!)

She rode Champion and I rode Fury!!!

Black Beauty was filmed here where I live, they had the farm for 3 years. We still have people come down now and again to see the stable he was born in!

Please can we all visit.x

I can't think where I dredged that name up from! I remember the programme well though - it started with a lovely theme tune and some footage of a rather nice grey Welsh pony cantering round. I think Susan King owned him - although it was a seriously long time ago and my crusty brain is not what it was.......

How sad am I ! That link has made my evening. I loved White horses & could still remember the theme tune so it was wonderful to hear it again !

This has really brought back some memories. I'm a real oldie, remember My Friend Flicka, Champion the Wonder Horse and of course White Horses and Follyfoot. One day I am going to treat myself to the Follyfoot dvd set.

I watch that clip of White horses loads - it makes you feel happy but at the same time sad for those simple times past ( ref the other thread about the "good old days")
Non horsey I know but do you remember the wonderful Johnny Morris and Animal Magic and Tales of the riverbank - I loved the way he did all the voices for the animals

OOh yes, Tales of the Riverbank, loved it, Hammy hamster and all. If we're wandering into Watch with Mother does anyone remember Pogles Wood and The Herbs, al the old favourites coming back to me now.

Mary Mungo and Midge! Loved it. I used to love Animal Magic, does anyone remember Dot the ring tailed lemur, Johnny would feed her grapes obviously to keep her in shot! They don't make programmes like that anymore.

Am I the only one who remembers a series called Moon Stallion? It was about a blind girl and a mysterious horse played, I think, by a horse (andalusian?) called Tabu. It was set in and around Wiltshire's ancient sites - Wayland Smithy, Uffington White Horse etc.

I remember the character Todman was a 'horse whisperer' and had got his powers from some ritual involving toad bones!

I loved the show, but I sometimes wonder if I was the only person who watched it!

oh thank you!! I have been trying for so long to remember the name if this show. I went to Waylands Smithy a few years ago and was trying to describe the programme to the friend I was with but just couldn't think of the name. You've saved me a few sleepless nights!!
