Just having the most super time with Arlo at the minute. We’ve been out to a few quiet low key clinics but Sunday we head out to a big local sponsored ride, our first ‘proper’ busy outing with lots of other horses and a lot going on! He was just super, I really can’t fault him.

Loaded straight up, travelled like a dream, off the box the other end not even fussed by the sea of boxes and horses around us! Stood at the box supervised by a kind man whilst we went and grabbed our numbers and just munched away happily without a care in the world.

Tacked up, jumped on and head down to the start ring and off we went with zero drama. We took it steady as it was a good 12 miles, just walking and having a few steady canters where we could. He even walked while my friend cantered off over some fences and he was a superstar with other horses coming passed and cantering off after. I was a bit of a wuss but we popped a few friendly fences and he was good as gold. I really cannot fault him and we had such a lovely day. Both absolutely knackered by the end of it!

A bit of a self indulgent post but just super proud of the boy, can’t believe he’s only 4 rising 5 sometimes!

Here’s a picture from the day coming into the finish (I have purchased the picture and have all rights 😊)

And here he is the morning after having a well earned rest!

I can't see the picture.

What a lovely post, thanks for sharing and your horse is lovely :) I have my first fun ride in May ... its unlikely to be 'fun' but it will be rather exciting, lol!

That's what horsey adventures should be like 😃 You have a lovely time ahead of you 🐴😃

I’ve never owned or loaned a horse that you can just box up and take on an adventure stress free! It makes me realise how lucky I am, he really is just so easy.
