So today BOF was going on and on about how temperamental A is, and I kept saying "honestly, he's not any more!" and BOF, being a Latin Bloke wasn't listening and saying that he would probably get a bit stupid in the ring and I kept saying "honestly, I don' t think he will!" and there I was trying to explain to a very sceptical-looking BOF that now that A knows that he's not going to get a hiding if he (or I) make a mistake, he's so much more cooperative and really enjoys his jumping...
Finally BOF HAD to acknowledge what a changed horse he was when after he squeezed in a second stride in a long one-stride combination and fell into the middle of the second fence not only did he NOT buck, plunge, get arsey in ANY way, but he righted himself very carefully (I was half-way up his neck) and slowed right down to a plod where I could get my bottom back in the saddle. THEN, without so much as a grumble, we did it again and got it right.
He's soooooooo sweet!!
