i was interested to see in the dressage report of last weeks H&H that Charlotte Dujardin will be wearing her hat in future because she fell off and was unconcious for 30 minutes...must be quite difficult in a world where it seems that NOBODY wears a hat unless they absolutely have to...i wonder if it will last....

god not ANOTHER hat post!!! People will just do what they want to do REGARDLESS...no matter what anybody tells them or whatever they may read because it will never happen to them.
 
Whew! Bit negative polos? Agree db - it's only by constantly raising awareness that the tide will change. If only ONE person starts wearing a hat because of reading about a terrible accident, and is saved serious injury or death, then it's worth it.
 
Totally agree! Such a silly risk to take, wouldnt want to be a cabbage for the rest of my life or worse when its unavoidable. Really hate the Beagler hats as they are neither use nor ornament and not up to Bristish safety standards.
 
Agree BoF. The more people read about changing opinions as to why a rider has decided to start wearing a hat the better. For a high profile person to say they had an accident (fell off) got injured and now weras a hat can only help to make others realise that it CAN happen to anyone, even the best riders.

Some people will sadly never learn as Polos says, but every effort should be made.
