I steer well clear of gumtree etc as the ads on there are bad for my blood pressure (although it seems HHO now has people of the same ilk:mad:).
However it seems nowhere is safe, just seen a post on a local horsey fb page, for 7 staff x GSD pups, 10 weeks old £50 each. Needless to say they own both parents. I have posted trying to be tactful saying they need to be very careful of the homes they go to as they are just the sort of cross the dog fighting types like! My post has got a few likes and poster has thanked me but don't suppose they will take a blind bit of notice.

local FB pages are bad too.
puppies needing to be rehomed at 3 or 4 months because of `change of circumstances` WTF
makes me really mad,i may delete the lot. but i can help but look.

it just so depressing when you see all the ads :( people really just don't think or have any common sense do they!

MM its just so depressing I try not to look.

S4Sugar at least the bitch didnt have to travel far to the stud dog and the pups will be non shedding.:D

Coming very shortly to a rescue near you.:(

I can't look at any of those sites anymore, or FB free ad sites (Pimp My Dog), or indeed lots of FB rescue pages, where anything above and beyond petting a dog on the head is 'aversive training'.

I try to keep away from preloved etc. This ad caught me out cos it was on a horse fb page! It looks like I was right thinking they wouldn't take any notice of my warning, from 7 pups available last night they are now down to two, being offered "first come first serve". :(

I can't look at them either, mind you I had a lady here the other day buying a turkey off me, she had huskys and one of them had had pups, turns out it is only her second season and her second litter!! - both accidental by her 2 un-neutered males who were father and son. She was also extremely disabled so how she managed 7+ huskys all under the age of 2 and pups I really don't know - I really had to bite my tongue - the lady was very nice just totally clueless and had no idea how bad the puppy market is, she knew it was a really bad thing to breed from a puppy yet she did nothing, it makes me angry that an accident can happen twice - I hate to think what will happen to the pups as no-one is buying at the mo!!!:(

please dont look! if you feel the urge just bury your head in the muck heap! but on a positive note i bought my 2 rotties from preloved! still in contact with breeders and they are special; and have a special home!! they want for diddly squat!

I know it isnt quite the same as what you are talking about but I saw an ad for a '9 month old kitten needing a new home due to new baby'
Made me sad :( she must have known she was pregnant when she got the kitten and what harm does a cat do to a baby anyway?! Surely you would just keep the cat out of the baby's room?! :(

just seen a fb pet page where the woman is looking for a stud dog for her bitch and doesnt even know what breed to choose? she just wants some cute puppies.
i have told her the pounds are full so i will probably get banned from the page.

I avoid looking at them now, really makes my blood boil! Saw one advert saying they were looking for a bitch to breed from, but it would only be a hobby so they didn't mind if there were no papers or pup wasn't kennel club registered!! Definite head desk moment!

Not all on preloved are bad, breaders :) We got our Scottish dog just over a year a go from the site and the breader is a lovely woman, that we still email. We went to see both mum and dad and she rang me the day after to see if he was ok, and to tell me she cried for a while. I belived her as she looked as if is would cry when we left.

But yes some are are just head desk moments, saw one today a three year old white wolf dog for sale as they have no time for it :(

The bloke we had Dax from cried as she left, didn't mean he wasn't an absolute douchebag. He was still trying to flog the other bitch six months later whilst simultaneously advertising for another dog (he wanted an akita, apparently).

Most people are familiar with the Dax saga on here, may it be a lesson to you all to never buy a dog from the freeads.

Somebody I unfortunately know got rid of a puppy she got about a month before because however much training she did (in the space of the month) it was still naughty.

You'll be not surprised to hear she did not return it to the breeder she sold it to a 'single man'.

It was a springer and she also said it was too energetic.

:mad::mad::mad:

And this person has a child.
