Having just taken off my boys shoes, I think I need some hoof boots. Now he has very large feet (165x165), so the best fit seems to be Cavello or Old Macs G2. My preference is the Old Macs but for his size foot they are about £70 more expensive. Are the Old Macs worth the difference in price.

I loved the look of the Scoot boots but they are not big enough ☹️

I have only used Cavallo so I can't say.

What breed is your chap? If he's a heavily feathered cob I would say cavallo would be easier to use. Old macs tend to stay put better than cavallo, but if the boot fits well it should stay put anyway! The downside with old mac is they're a bit faffy

I have no experience with larger hooves but I’ve used Cavallo and old Mac. Cavallo do the job well enough but old Macs give a closer fit. More difficult to put on though. If your horse has only just come out of shoes I’d anticipate further changes and go for cheaper option.

He is a mixed breed cob - luckily without feathers.

I think you may be limited. I just bought the biggest Cavallo Simples, and they are tight on my horse, who has slightly smaller feet than yours.
I'm looking at the Cavello Big Foot - he would be a size 8 and they do go up to a size 10 so we should be OK

If you can find any second hand through the Facebook groups or otherwise then do so as his feet will likely change a lot over the next few months.
