5 year old cob (happily takes a 10stone 5ft 7 adult). Hacks alone and in company. Very well behaved at all times. Loves a fuss, good to catch/box/farrier/ everything else. Can be handled by children. Not spooky/good on roads. Will go around school but very green here. Has popped small jumps and enjoys it. No health issues.
Friend is selling and I’m interested but not sure on price!

She’s more chilled…you can leave her without riding and get straight back on and she’s great. If others canter off she’ll do whatever you ask. She’s pretty and would show….not at whizzy as the pony above. I was hoping maybe 3-3.5 but don’t want to pay less than she’s worth (being as honest as possible about what she’s like!)

Thanks for all your replies. Friend wants 4.5…I’ve suggested 4 but not sure she’ll take that…Is 4.5 too much? She is a lovely pony but 4.5 my max budget and don’t want to spend more than she’s worth…

If you wanted to spend £4k, could easily spend £500 in fuel and time travelling to viewings of horses that aren’t right. If this is on your doorstep with known history, it’s worth the extra.

Sounds like mine when I bought her 7yrs ago as a just-backed-and-ridden-on. I bought her for £950 cash. 13.2 gypsy cob. Knew how she'd been backed as it was done at a trusted friend's yard.

She was just a blank canvas essentially; since then she's developed into the perfect small adult's happy hacker. If it wasn't for her equine asthma I know I could get stoopid-price if I were to sell her (which I won't, not ever).

IF the cob that you describe OP is as good as you say it is (not doubting you, just saying), if I was selling then I'd go for say £4K and see what happens, but be prepared to go down to £3.5. Sounds lovely! And what everyone wants. If it was 14.2 as opposed to 13.2 then frankly you could go to over £4 and you'd very likely get it.
