YO is def selling some horses but not sure of prices

15 yr old gelding
16.1 ish Welsh Sec D with excellent breeding, WPCS registered
Black
Has produced a good dressage test and can jump (he has jumped 4ft + but not for a while) - would be fab in the show ring/working hunter
Hacks alone or in company
Great to handle on the ground - lovely manners
Easy to clip, vet, farrier etc.

His only downside is he is a bit 'hot' but he just grows another inch and walks on his toes and snorts - he doesn't actually do anything like buck/rear
His other drawback is he isn't a good doer but he can live out all year round as long as he's got good grazing/food

Oh - and he's mostly hacked and schooled the last few years due to no transport so no recent competitions.

TBH I don't want him to go

he's such a cool dude

OMG I thought you were selling one of yours

Hmmm, I have a price in mind particularly bearing in mind his age etc, but will wait for others to commit themselves in case I am way off the mark

I would say around 1500-1700, bearing him in mind his age, lack of competition record and the fact that he's doesn't sound like a totally novice ride.

He is a novice ride though - he's never done anything stupid in the 10 years she's owned him, even when she broke him in

He will grow sometimes but that's it, he just snorts and moves on. If a total beginner sits on him he turns into a dobbin and goes off voice command.

Hmm, depends really, if he really can be a novice ride, then maybe more than £2.5k, but if he would do anything that would worry a novice/nervous rider, his market would be slightly more limited I would say....so maybe advertise £2250 and get £1750? Problem is in the showring etc he is 16 now so not going to be that competitive for that long.

we are looking for one similar to this but under 15 yrs, would actually be v interested in him if a little younger. We are looking at a def maybe on saturday and i am excited but will be trying him out properly in all respects as really he is for novice oh. To be honest above boy has no showing experience/results which bumps welshie prices up generally,to be honest i would be looking to offer no more than 2k for one like that but that is my max budget, and it would have to be bombproof practically, age is not on his side, esp to be able to get a good few years competing in,bet he's lovely but at the mo with the credit crunch and it now coming into winter it really is a buyers market. I'm sure you'll find a fab home for him. Good luck
