OK, lerned ones, a how much please...

15.2hh piebald gelding, 10 years old, by Stanhopes Diddicoy. Equally marked, kind to do clip/box/shoe etc. Very well schooled (canter pirouettes etc), jumps 3ft6 plus happily, has hunted.

Lovely to do, but not a novice ride out of the menage. Hard to explain really, I thknk he's spent so much of his life being schooled that it blows his brain when he's allowed out! Not nasty, just excited and strong.

Any ideas? Ta x x

Not sure as he's at that hard size (I think) where he's not one or tother. He sounds lovely though, so for a competant rider Id say 4k without tack.

He's been showing with me, as for before that really not much as far as I know.
He's built like a barn door, so not really a big pony, more a small horse (if that makes any sense to anyone?!) He really needs a one to one mummy (or daddy!), coz I think he'd really thrive.

Sadly he's got to go as he's too strong for me to hunt (loves it tho, flies ditches and fences like a pro!)

I'd second around 4k. Sounds like the sort I'd be after if I didn't have mine

He soounds nice, 3500 - 5000 depending on how strong & excitable he gets at times and his competition experience. If you could show him etc obviously he will be worth a lot more than something which flips it lid at pony parties. I don't think 15.2 is a difficult size to sell - alot of teenagers like a 15.2 after a 14.2 for a while as they aren't ready for 16 hands plus, also small lady riders seem to love 15 - 15.2's as they are a 'proper' horse size but not so big they can't get on from the ground etc. Also mother/daughter shares like 15.2's.

Yes, I'd go along with 4 to 4.5 k He sounds a great success in competition. But the downside is his strong/not novice out and about. Needs a not too heavy person, but very capable. Be good for a competetive experienced teen boy by the sound of him!

But as you say, he'd have to move on again then. Mind you there are a few smaller ladies about who are really tough riders and like a scary hunt!

Exactly, we are a mother daughter share - and we have a 15.3 also ours is colured and is happier in the arena than on a hack!

We have been having a bit of teething trouble though, and I was certainly after something bombproof, proven, sane, easy, loads of experience for which I was willing to pay 7.5k

I ended up paying 4 because she failed the vet and she is not as bombproof on a hack as I thought. Also flips lid a little on pony parties!

He'd gallop and jump until the cows come home. just a shame that our country doesn't really lend itself to that!

He does remind me of Rosie's Oshka a bit (not that I know her, but seems like a similar horse from reading her posts!)

I'm the Hon Sec of our hunt, so I can't really have such an unruly pony!

What would he be like as a Whip's horse; that sounds an ideal job for him?! Sometimes they settle so much better when they are up front and have a job to do too don't they? What sort of country are you in then, is it trappy?

I'm really not sure, I reckon he might nap. Never really had him alone except for in the menage, where he's like a machine.

I'm in Essex, so there's hardly ever any long runs like up country. I went out with the Bicester once, that'd really suit him coz they're always on the move.

I really think his main problem is getting too het up when he's uncomfortable, he's has a lot of homes and I don't think he's ever had someone to love and trust, hence the need for a "one person family!"

He's obv had a beating at some point (defo not from me!), coz he's terrified of random things. I would keep him but I can't afford two
